You're absolutely right about just squeezing the brake and tightening not working. But what does work is leaving them loose, squeezing the brake just tight enough to where you can spin the wheel,, spinning the wheel a full rotation and then squeeze and tighten, it's never failed me.

You should do a brake stop test between 203, 180, and 160mm rotors using the same pads and calipers to see which ones stops the furthest. You could also use the infrared heat gun from the most recent mailtimeto see the brake temps temps between all three rotors.

I just bought the same epixon from ebay ($191) to replace my 9mm Quick release epixon. They are great light weight xc to trail forks. These are oem 2019 with older epixon discontinued lowers that were actually better than the new ones... They are all adjustable internally from 100 to 140mm of travel. You could adjust them to 120 if 140 is too much. There's also a popular mod that will make them smoother by adding some synthetic oil to the lowers (10 to 15cc).

That's awesome man! Thanks for the info. Would love to see some information? Maybe a link would be very helpful. Thanks man and hope they are great as well.

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Sure, here's how you adjust your travel : kzbin.info/www/bejne/imK6cpyJa9GqprM , and the oil in the lowers help the seals, it was something i read on a forum long ago and it actually helped, just add some synthetic motor oil (10 to 15cc), low weight, through the bolt holes on the lowers. These forks only use grease and a sealed damper. Love your videos!

The trick to centering your caliper to your rotor does work you are just doing it wrong. This is what you need to do it the right way. Loosen your caliper a little then take a piece of paper or a business card ( I use a business card) and place it between the rotor and brake pad on each side, then hold your brake lever then tighten your caliper. I can promise you that does work perfectly. Ive used this method at least 30 times and it comes out flawless. If you dont put something between the rotor and pad you will get rubbing.

The rotor trick works. You need to sandwich something else onto the rotor that is thicker than the out of plane variation of your rotor. I do this all the time. It would work without that if your rotors were perfectly flat, but most are warped a little. Eitherways, with hydraulic brakes it'll recenter itself correctly over time and the rub will go away. Also don't full tighten one bolt then the other, incrementally tighten both.

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I have a question about the disc brake caliper spacers can you use all three spacers and the center between the bracket and the caliper the cone part of the spacers into the insert piece itself so it's actually not sitting up on top up against the bracket itself for an is bracket it safe it's

Well not sure about the safety but I get what you are saying. I ran 3 spacers when I did not have a screw that was short enough so I had to use that setup to make due, I stopped fine but ended up changing it?
@WOLFTICKVIDEOS3 жыл бұрын
Like we said man not sure as far as safety goes but I would def trial run it a bunch and if it doesnt rub and grind you should be fine.

like for exposing the trash advice for disc brake alignment. the only way it can be done is by looking for the gap and listening, then re-adjusting. take time, requires effort. it s*cks and you better not need to do it on the road. v-brakes are easier to maintain. good things cost in effort
