Owner’s experience after 2000km on the bike: - fastest bike I ever rode and most powerful by far (previous bikes include RSV4 and R1, plus extensive test rides of the Superduke and Tuono) - front end does not inspire the confidence of the Tuono but the bike is much more stable than the Superduke, I tested both competitors before buying this - best perceived quality of components from my shortlist, by comparison Aprilia in particular is losing ground to Ducati on this topic Dealership offers 4 years warranty, I wouldn’t have bought a Ducati with any less warranty. ;) Even though the SFV4S is an awesome bike - maybe the best bike - I miss the Aprilia V4 for being more engaging, more emotional, more entertaining and safer to ride.

It’s very hard to ride a 14,000 rpm bike on the street vs the track. The Super Duke1290r with all its power/torque below 9500 rpm is a very streetable bike as most time in the 5000-8000 rpm range. It’s not all about peak horsepower at peak rpm

186 horsepower 12,500 rear wheel 90 ft pounds 10,500 Super Duke evo 160 horsepower 9500 rear wheel 101 ft pounds 8500 Horsepower is a calculation rpm x torque divided a constant. Higher rpm more horsepower but less torque.

I agree, I own a 2024 V4. Epic bike with great power all over the RPM range, the mid RPM torque is awesome. The Ducati V4 is a phenominal street bike.

Every review I've seen tells us that the swingarm pivot has been raised 4mm ( ~ 1/8th inch) and that this makes a significant difference. I'm not an engineer, and I'm not a racer, so maybe my skepticism is misplaced, but is anyone else wondering if this data point is nothing more than PR hype? (BTW, I have no doubt it's a really fun, even remarkable, bike.)

It's not, a raised swingarm lowers the front and makes the riding position ever so slightly sportier, a bit more of a lean forward position

Another great advertisement... Btw, if the people who buy those bikes were riding them only on the track, either they'd cost a fortune or they wouldn't be sold because financially not worth it. Give us road reviews, that's where we ride

Paying for the performance? Sure to a degree but the M 1000 R is $6k less for similar or better performance, more features and a much better warranty. What you are paying for is Ducati on the side. Nothing wrong with that but as a "journalist" you should call it out.

I bought the V4S- tried the BMW. BMW did not make a nice noise, Ducati way way nicer which is why I bought it
