Thank you, David, for being a beacon during this transition in my life. One Sunday in May 2024 I was totally "in" and by the next Sunday I was totally OUT. Since then I have been cautiously navigating my way through Christianity. I watch anxiously for your next interviews as well as your weekly podcast with Marty.

Growing up in a town with no other friends, i gravitated to the Mormon children. I went alot. Even as a child, I was so indoctrinated I could see it wasn't right. But could see truth. I only left the truth because my brother told me that it didn't matter what I did, I was going to hell. 20 years later I went back to the truth. 34 years later, totally mentally and physically sick, I finally left!! I am thankful I am out, pray to never go again!!😊

1:22:25 The workers quit evangelizing since the 90’s…. I noticed that too. My thought was, if this is so good, why aren’t we sharing it with the world? “ Everything you think you believe, read the Bible and try and prove it.” 1:56:36 is a great challenge. I love that reasoning! ❤ The workers are not necessary for my Salvation. If they are just preying on the sheep, (keeping them together by rules), they are useless and worse.

Yep. When Fritz Lunn came into my office to invest (in his name) money that Kenneth Olson had been given by his parents and that Kenneth had hoarded for 60 years…. And then when Gilbert Richter came in a few years later and demanded Kenneth’s money and I had to turn him away… yep, there was that. And so much more. These people in this video are being so courageous. Good for them. For me it’s been a long and painful journey out of duality.

Thank you, for sharing your story, and how interesting that so much of what you tell about the Mormon faith is so similar to the 2x2.

Great interview. Thanks to all. Finally celebrating Christmas in all its wonder - causes us to worship and praise with you. The angels 'gawked' as that tiny head of God crowned - into the world. Every time we hear of another person, couple or family coming into the light, we rejoice. Laura said it changes everything. And so it does.

So absolutely true! I left with my husband, and sister, her husband and all our kids. We heard through the newspaper the book coming out "The Secret Sect" all about the start of the 2x2. Both of us went to the bookstore together and bought the book and devoured it. At first we thought the way needed a "reform." Then, we discovered it was just a system that was based on all the wrong things (legalism). Reading other interpretations of the Bible than King James, helped open our eyes to what being a 'Jesus follower' really was, and who Jesus REALLY was----. My husband was raised in a mainline church, but through us getting together, he left it and joined the 2x2. I was raised in the Way, so knew nothing of anything else. We left because of doctrine, not because we had any animosity towards workers or friends. We just could not be a part of false doctrine, and the treatment of others, particularly women, and children that was absolutely wrong, and just was covered up. We now are a part of a mainline church, and love it! Jesus is THE WAY. I celebrate Christmas too, and rejoice hearing of others who have left the WAY and found Jesus.

I was surprised to hear about the makeup even at convention!!! Things have changed a lot since I was a teen and young adult! pants and makeup, and for sure nail polish, and jewelry were absolutely frowned upon. I was aware though, that many of us kids wore pants riding bikes, hiking, camping, etc. even though we would not dare go grocery shopping in pants! I live in WA state. We left in Dec. 1983.

I can still remember when I cut my hair! It was such a huge deal. Even though I have thin fine hair, it was freeing, yet terrifying all wrapped up in one!

I remember studying the bible to show why the Way was the Way. Cherry picking verses out of the bible is often used to "prove" what you believe is right. But, then, there are the chapters, and verses and themes written in the bible that don't square with the teachings in the Way.

I Corinthians 15:29 is the verse she referenced about baptism.

Which Paul is arguing about: what's the point of baptizing if WE are going to die, and then Jesus returns and we don't rise up to meet Him? But, we know that we will rise up from Paradise (a place of rest), because Jesus said we would, and then the judgement day, to be with Him and His/Our Father in Heaven for all eternity. Has nothing to do with living people getting baptized for other dead people

Ignorance can lead to apostasy! "If thou wilt enter into like, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS." Jesus Christ Matthew 19:17!!! Steps to and in apostasy: 1- Ignorance 2- failure to seek for the REAL truth 3- giving heed to false anti doctrine 4- believing false doctrine 5- guilty feelings which lead to attacking the church and blaming the church as a defence mechanism to cover your guilt 6- being inspired by Satan to publicly mock and attack the church 7- total apostasy and damnation!!!

32 mins in and this religion sounds complicated.

😂 lying gets complicated over time. Especially when you call yourself ‘truth’
@carla2012app8 күн бұрын
it is. Just being a "Jesus follower" is for me, so simple. 2x2, which I was raised in, is also complicated. I think any manmade religious movement can be quite complicated.
