This trip briefly reminded me of my trip to Yellowstone back in 2021. I saw a wildfire around Wyola, WY on my way to Billings, MT. Really loved the drive to West Yellowstone, since the scenery was just mind blowing to someone who's never seen mountains up close before. I hope they put a supercharger up in Cody, WY, so that the eastern entrance to Yellowstone is more feasible.

I learned a lot from the videos of your trip. I just got my MYLR and have only taken it on some trips over the mountains of 175 miles or so each way. I especially like your idea of charging to 90% overnight then doing the last 10% in the morning right before you leave so as not to leave the car at 100% for too long.

Thanks for the very nice video. I’ll be taking my model Y on I 90 the other direction to SD in a few days. Delightful to have a preview of the super charger stops and caveats along the way. I love how you’re “slow charging times” are 120Kw charger speed. I just did a road trip from MN to Iowa and was so happy when I didn’t have to use a 5Okw charger. I was so happy to see Electrify America options, even if the reliability was always in question. Can’t wait for when I can start using the Tesla Chargers with my Rivian R1S. I did just order a Tesla M3, but not sure I’ll ever road trip it. The Rivian just has so much usable space and it’s a very comfy ride.

Great vid. So glad to see it as I'm planning a Milwaukee to Seattle trip in April next year. Will be interesting to see the usage difference at that time of year. The Tesla app has us routed through North Dakota however and will have to check the contrast in consumption via that route. Undecided if we'll go South or North (and may be weather dependent as well.). Anyway, thanks for the show and information. Looking forward to your remaining legs.

We just ordered the 2024 Model 3. I was sitting here listening on how much each supercharger was costing and my wife said, our car doesn't cost that much more for gas to fill up. Just got me thinking about buying the Tesla.

If you do all of your charging at superchargers you will not save a bunch on electricity. The real savings is that you will do most all of your charging at home. That and essentially no maintenance and you will realize the true cost savings.

Howdy IowaT! I live in Spokane, and about six weeks ago I followed your westward route, only I went east. I grew up and returned for a visit to the Quad City area. It was a hoot to see you stopping at almost every Supercharger I used, but in reverse order. Your Liberty Lake supercharger was actually where I picked up my MYLR. With a little preplanning, we could have shared a supercharging meet. BTW, I am guessing you do most,if not all your filming with that excellent X3? Thanks for the excellent videos you post.

Worthington, Mitchell, and Oacoma are easily in my top ten bad superchargers. FYI, there is a EA 350 charger that is just off the interstate at Worthington. Have fun, seems like a fun trip.

What a trip! ~700 miles per day is pretty strong. We try to limit our days to around 500 miles. We did something similar last year, going from South Carolina to Mt. Rushmore, then down to Texas. Total of around 5000 miles.

Wondering why you’re frequently charging to high ranges on your battery. Most places (states) charge more as you charge higher. Is that not an issue for you? Do you have free supercharging?

I'm not complete sure what you are doing but it looks like you did not precondition your car at around 10 mins. It was only charging at 108kw at 35%.

I will admit, the first rotation happened at 42,000 miles. Depends on your driving style.

You are scaring some of your viewers by telling us what you are paying for each charge. You might mention that you seem to be charging at the peak rate and that there are savings to be had by supercharging in the morning or later in the evening. Thanks.
