“Gly”: Hey buddy, I couldn’t help but notice that your O2 monitor was only a few inches away from the surface of the water when you were up in that drift. I think what you encountered there was a perfect example of what happens when CO2 bubbles are released when stirring up sediment. If you encounter that again try holding your O2 monitor at arms length above your head to to see what happens. I’m almost certain the air quality changed right near the surface of the water. I’m envious, it’s been hotter than the hubs of hell down here in Nevada lately. I could sure use a wet mine right about now. Take care.
@exploringabandonedmines4 жыл бұрын
That could be although I didn't see any bubbles. This mine was sealed off for a long time and was only recently uncovered, not much air flow. We will have to try it again and see if the air is better.

@@exploringabandonedmines I've seen on other peoples vids where the gas meter goes off in mines that have a lot of rotten wood and after you've gone past the rotten wood the meter settles down again.
@HighlanderNorth14 жыл бұрын
Well, you say that now when it's hot outside, but just wait until you get inside a cold, damp, slimy, muddy, soaking wet mine. After an hour or so, you'll "probably" be wishing for hot and dry again! Lol
@HighlanderNorth14 жыл бұрын
⚠️👉👉 Man, someone needs to hook him up with a better light than the one he uses around the 5:00 mark! That thing "may" be good at throwing a (narrow)beam a fairly long distance, but it's hot spot is just too small and concentrated for clearly illuminating short to medium distances of 50-75 feet. At short and moderate distances, it's hot spot is so bright that it washes out the subject you pointed it at. ⚠️ The other issue is the beam tint. There's a fairly wide range of LED's available with varying beam tints, from cool/cold blue, to harsh yellow("warm"). That may not be an issue for your average "Joe Homeowner" who just needs a flashlight for when a lightning storm puts out the electricity for 15mins. But it's not good for an explorer or filmmaker, because the extreme ends of the tint spectrum are NOT good for accurately rendering colors.🚫 A yellow light like ^this one(warm) will make light colored or white surfaces look yellow, while the blue tinted(cool white)LED's are also poor at color rendering.🚫 👉 If you are exploring, looking for certain types of rock, while filming, it's obviously desirable to have a light that illuminates areas well, without being so bright that it washes everything out, and renders the natural colors of the rock in unnatural, inaccurate colors. ☑️😁
@seldoon_nemar4 жыл бұрын
@@exploringabandonedmines you wouldn't necessarily see bubbles. It could be like a soda that's half flat the next day when you open it. Sealed mines are perfect for that kind of thing because the stiller the water, the easier time the gas has been dissolved into it. the fact this wasn't completely still is why it wasn't a worse reaction.

Frank, the color temperature of the wide flood light and Sharon's headlight are the same, but it appears your headlamp is more yellow with a hot spot. The spot and yellow color are visually distracting and make your latest videos less enjoyable than your earlier work. All color temperature should be close. 4000K, 5000K cool white vs 2700K, 3000K warm white. Yes at 11:47 I can verify its your headlamp which is warm white.
@exploringabandonedmines4 жыл бұрын
The brighter yellow headlamp that I have been using is much better at lighting up large areas or places far away. However it does tend to wash out close up shots. For that reason we have decided to go back to our original lights for most of the filming and only use the brighter light for longer shots in the future.
