You are lucky and blessed that you were able to create a loving community for yourself. Some of us who also come from trauma are unable to do so despite our best efforts because of the trauma. You created a wonderful life for youself.

There's a term in the Black community called "othermothering," which mostly describes the community parenting and kinship that's built into Blackness. Today, I reframed it as "otherfathering" as I found myself grateful for the Black men in my life that have countered what my father was (and wasn't) and showed me vulnerable, reflective, and nurturing Black masculinity. It feels like your practice of keeping up with the science is in full effect! I'm so happy you're here this spring, and I will rainbow warrior stomp this Tuesday and all days forward!

It rained a lot today in my bit of NE Scotland. My dad died many years ago but I still remember him especially on Father's day. He had a middle ranking Govt job and never earned a huge salary, but always put us five kids first in any spending decisions. Cancelled golf club membership, very few pub visits with mates, driving old battered cars and spending time fixing them up. All to pay the bills and to give us a few treats. Your PT sessions will gradually get your leg moving strongly. Keep at it. Hugs from Scotland.

I'm happy that you have such a large family now. You've come a long way, sister-friend. I have to tell you that you look absolutely amazing. You're even glowing. I trust your instinct that this new drug is making a difference. Which is incredibly exciting. We too have been dealing with the heat and our dew points have been just stupid. We have a break starting in the morning but will rapidly jump back into the upper 90s to around 100. It's early for Kansas to be so hot and humid. Late July through all of August is when we normally have this kind of heat. Makes wonder what August is going to be like. It will probably snow.😉 I hope this week has been uplifting and full of peace. Always sending only the best energy your way. ❤💪🌈

I am so grateful you are getting the opportunity to experience relief from the spinal cord stimulator. Placement of mine, Dr. Joe Dispenza work and plant 🌱 medicine gave me my life back. You’re looking good. May every day bring you joy & happiness. Much love from NJ.

My son hurt his back seriously in the Air Force. They placed a spinal cord stimulator. He had some success with it, but not much. Of course he had a different problem than you. All the positive juju coming your way that it helps you so much! We will be with you in spirit this week. Love always, my friend!❤❤❤

I swear our lives mirror each other’s in so many ways! I am also doing PT now, gaining my independence from bed and house is what is driving me and when it feels like too much I pop over and watch one of your videos and I am uplifted. I also have a brain mri. I call it “the tube of doom” because I hate them, you just reminded me to make the appointment. Thanks! I too didn’t have a relationship with my Dad other than it being abusive, and unfortunately I am not like you in this instance because I married someone who treats me worse than my Dad did so yesterday was pretty tough. Because of my health and I think intentional isolation YOU are my chosen family right now. I hope while I come back into life that I can build a supportive tribe like you have and that speaks so much to what a good person and friend. So instead of my father I am going to celebrate you today! You mean a lot to a lot of us, and though you don’t know it, you inspire me, motivate me, challenge my thinking, and lift my spirits. I would have loved those qualities in a family member! ❤ Good luck this week! So excited for the stimulator report, and I hope this new drug helps you too! Happy YOU day!

You look great! Isn’t it wonderful you’re past that terrible sadness you were feeling when you worried you might not be able to see the spring and summer! Here you are and you’re doing so well! I hope the spinal cord stimulator works and you can get back to your own rainbow warrior stomping (and a little dancing!). Enjoy your friends, the June weather in Chicago, and the devoted companionship of your wife (and of course, the sweet presence of your pup)!

Father’s day is in September for us Aussies 🇦🇺 My dad is a good dad but he has a controlling wife (my step mother) and is ALWAYS working or too busy for me so my relationship with him isn’t what I wanted. I often find myself wanting more from him. I am grateful he isn’t a deadbeat dad or an abusive one though.

Hello you wonderful woman. You just seem to be kicking cancer's ass once again after a real rough patch filled with pain. You are such a fighter. Thanks for including smoothie ingredients. I was one of the folks that requested that. I'll have to investigate the benefits of mushroom powder. As a person for whom the 60's and 70's could be considered my "hey-day", psilocybin mushrooms could be fun!😄😁 (Ann)
