Thought Allen might steal this, man he was lights out. Our third line was the difference. Great shutout for Husso he was solid and the team played solid in front of him. Wow that gritt and intensity... I don't remember when the Wings did compete with this kind of level... they outshooted the habs easily they ate them on the battles for the puck without an astonished performance from Allen they could really took a blast in the scoresheet so pumped for this season hope they'll play with this intensity each night and also next game against NJ

Great offensive work, really liked how they were on top of the game. They outplayed Montreal. They will work on passing and knowing where each other are. Looked like the 2002 Wings the way they were keeping Montreal out of their end. I have great hopes for these guys

I haven't watched in years, due to both life being weird and the team being bad. Just can't take the time to watch them struggle. But I feel like this might be a good year and I want to pay more attention. I missed the first period because the NHL apparently cannot figure out an easy way for people to watch games. All sports are like that now with the subscription services, it's ridiculous. But I liked what I saw. We may not have a Datsyuk or Zetterberg anymore, but we have good players. I hope they start to click more and more as the season goes on, first game is bound to be a little messy. There was a lot of grinding and soft plays and basic puck handling that they can improve on. It was nice to see them get so many shots on goal though. If there's one thing that can survive from the Yzerman/Lidstrom/Zetterberg era, it's just pounding the other team's net with pucks.
