Agreed. Mickey Redmond is the best. Him and ken Daniels make a great pair. Their voices are synonymous with red wings hockey.

And I think Seider still doesn't get the respect he deserves. A 21 ( almost 22) year old D who plays against the best players every night & dominates them most of the time.... Nothing against Larkin, but Seider is Detroit's most important player & the one player every team & fan would take in a heartbeat.

@@michealmcintosh7795 No, it's not meant disrespectfully... he did win the Norris trophy last year after all, but Seider is 21 and makar is 24. Plus, Seider is only in his second season. Like I said, he just doesn't get the respect he deserves for me. His own coach sees him as the best player on the team. A lot of people don't watch the games, they just look at the stats.

We handed the Big B's their 10th loss. Absolutely crazy to think they've only lost 10 in regulation this late in the season lmao. Awesome win. Makes me excited for next season. we're definitely taking a big step in the right direction going into next season. We've been constantly getting better and better, year by year since Stevie came home. It's a slow-ish incline, but we're heading to the promise land. As long as our record gets better from one year to the next (which it has), i'll be happy. Going to be an absolute battle with Buffalo and Ottawa next season. More worried about Buffalo though lol.

If we win against the preds and the avalanche then we would have a huge important game against the Panthers on Monday that I'm actually going to. Can't wait. But we still have a chance just like the senators, sabres, capitals, Panthers and Islanders

AWOOD sure covers a good game. He's the best. The boyz stopped hitting in the 3rd. Can't do dat against a good team. If you get Boston off their game you have to keep Boston off their game. All in all a good weekend.

Yeah I'd say Husso really kept us in it during the 3rd. Probably our best pickup in the offseason. If we get 1 great pick, Edvinsson and a couple other guys come up and do well, Chiasson signed cheap and play like he has (like Holmstrom in his prime), a few moves in FA, Raymond to play solid for the whole season I don't see how we can't make the playoffs and a decent push too. I know that's all a lot of hypothetical BS but it is what it is. It's mostly luck with some talent to help out.

Marchand is so easy to hate. Hes the modern agitator. He Does stuff like that late shot on the offsides to bait someone into taking a bad penalty and probably could have one called on him each shift for something borderline dirty. 🐀

The only unfortunate thing about this win is that several of these guys are just fill ins, we hopefully have several different regulars to push us to the next level next season. Still, it seems like the team is staying tough and working hard even though the season is winding down.

Chiasson has been really good offensively and none of the callups look out of place out there. If we can replace Bert with an AHLer plus add him to Boston and still compete with them I'm tickled.

Impressive win to end a fairly impressive weekend against an historic juggernaut Bruins team, but I have a genuine open question: would you prefer the Red Wings continue to push for a fleeting playoff hope, or would you rather they improve their draft odds in a top-heavy draft? I've heard both sentiments recently and tend toward the former, but I'm curious to see what a general public consensus might look like.

I would rather give younger players a chance to gain NHL experience. For example, Edvinnson. Next season: Seider - Walman 1D pair Edvinnson maattaa 2D pair Would be a dream for the future

Win now . I hate the whole "lose for a good draft pick" mentality. It never works out. Good draft picks are so over rated in all sports. Look at how long the lions, pistons, tigers and wings have all been getting great draft positions but still aren't making the playoffs. It's better to just have a play hard and win mentality at all times

@@silverking8742 No, I wouldn't give up this year either. You can see that the team has potential and needs to grow and you can't do that by "giving up". We have enough "old" picks who will hopefully make the jump to the NHL in the next few years. But I also don't think Steve Y will use all his picks in the draft.... I hope he trades players with the picks.

@@silverking8742 Well the players aren't going to try to "lose for a good draft pick" so there are no worries there. These guys are trying to win. We have 5 picks in the first 2 rounds and Yzerman surely seems to know what he's doing when it comes to the draft.

Was that really an overpay? Bert's a top-six caliber player who brings a fairly unique blend of skill and abrasiveness that lends itself well to playoff hockey. Those type of players typically don't come cheap, even for a rental.

@@thewizardofoz511 Red Wings fan or not, the stick never breaks, and the "hold onto your stick dummy" argument has been an acceptable condition for decades. It looked like the ref was going to let it be a lesson to the butterfingers who dropped his stick until he realized not calling a penalty would lead to a goal and so decided he wanted to be the first star for the Bruins that night. Either make the call/non-call *as you see it happen* or don't make it at all, the wait was egregious and unacceptable.
