Just an idea, but with the low price of most of their pedals, get three other friends to commit to buying one caline pedal per month. Each of you choose something different from ths others and pass them around once a week. You get to try four pedals a month and then you each get to keep one. If i had friends thats what ivwould do.

I'm not sure why you jumped to judge this pedal, but I'm glad you edited the video later. This is one of my favorite overdrives, and I have accumulated a few over the years that cost quite a bit more.

I would like to say that regardless of Ryan's assessment of the Mariana, I really want one. Based on this video alone, the "Hot Springs" setting sounds to me like a 1960s 45, like Phil Specter, with tons of room reverb, and what he described as granular, at least to my ears sounds like a Link Wray overdrive amp, there was a phaser or something that reminded me a lot of Tripping Daisy and Soundgarden, even the weird pitch shift tone has potential for sounding like a warped record. Honestly, the whole pedal screams Surf, Grunge, Garage Punk and psychedelic 60s, all at the bottom of the sea. I just ordered one, and I can't wait for it to arrive. Thank you Ryan. I'm sorry you didn't like it, but I think the Mariana sounds awesome.

For Nirvana fans: the Caline Devilfish pedal, with the right settings, does the Radio-Friendly Unit Shifter intro stuff if you run it into a distortion, and it can also do the Scentless Apprentice doubling and Heart-Shaped Box solo stuff too. I wish I could turn both switches on/off at the same time, but I could mod it to do that. Or possibly 3D print something to join the switches together.

You earned that thumb up. Even though I was mentally yelling at you to turn up the wet knob on the multi reverb when you were saying there was hardly any reverb on one setting. AND also turn down some of the wacky on the other settings. It was the one pedal I was seriously considering of the lot >_< I feel like pedals like those are just missing a guitarist to come in and really focus the engineers designing them and make them really useable. I love the experimentation and range of available sounds, just the implementation that is slightly off the mark somehow. I think they might be coming up with a few wallet-friendly Earthquaker Devices-challenging designs in a couple more generations of pedal designs.

Thats almost Exactly how I use my Demon Tube screamer. I dial it in fairly mild on the 808 setting and then layer on my MXR '78 Badass Distortion pedal for the gain and harmonic boost. It really makes a tube amp roar and with a decent Solid State amp the gain is enough to throw down some 90s metal tones without sounding too open or flimsy.

@@jessiesratrods1210 I knew I wasn't the only one that does that. Cool, you've launched a KZbin channel; I wish you enormous success! Don't lose patience with the process tho; it's going to take a while to get an audience. However, the fact that you're launching a channel based thus far on pedals, tells me you know what you're doing & have a decent ear (what do you mean by getting lucky?) & that furthers my belief that you'll be disappointed in Caline pedals tone wise. To be fair to them, the pedals I got were older models, they have probably learned a lot since then, but that's one of the great parts of having a channel right? You can find out for yourself, & turn that discovery into an video, which the entire community can learn from.
