On the invasion range difference, look up "Mercator projection" which "inflates the size of lands the further they are from the equator." I guess this is the reason for the difference.

That must be it. Though my theory about the base size would have been cool! A larger base could support a larger invasion capacity, etc. Ah well. :(

OK, something that the game doesn't make very clear, and you have to make notes and such to discover...Here is the manual text: Gun quality: This is the gun quality of that calibre. It is given by your research and cannot be changed. Gun quality affects range and penetration, and for some older guns, rate of fire. It can vary between -3 (short barrelled old guns, slow to reload) and +2 (an excellent gun with good range and penetration). When you were doing the CA design and got it down from 10" to 8" you passed over the 9" which is at QUALITY 1!!! (10" and 8" are at 0.) If you look into it, my own personal rule-of-thumb I came up with, is that an increase of quality is _almost_ like an increase of caliber! (Though it doesn't have as much range.) So when I have 8" at 1 and 9" at 0, THEN it's a tough call for if I want the 8" which perform better, or the 9" which have slightly greater range. So here on the Tone, I woulda grabbed the 9" at 1 over the 8" at 0, all day, every day! Then remove the aft superimposed if need be to fit it. ~~~ What I mean is that if you design a new ship with 9" 1 guns and view "gun data", note how many inches of armor it can punch through belt and deck at various ranges. Then swap to 10" 0 guns and it will (may?) have more range, BUT, the punching power isn't that much more than your 9" 1 guns at the same ranges! (And both should way outclass the 8" 0 guns you used.)

Oh. Well, I hopefully won't be using them to fight battleships or battlecruisers. They're meant really to show the flag. I suppose at some point we may get +1 for our 8" guns and be able to give them a nice little upgrade.

Hi... I wonder if the "prestige" affects the unrest-level meaning that higher prestige score have a dampening effect on the dissatisfaction in the population?
@TinyDragonLair18 күн бұрын
I'm not really sure. I've had good prestige for most of the game and my unrest still manages to go up and down a bit wildly.

@@TinyDragonLair Yea... It is just a theory... But one thing I've noted is that you use prestige more as a commodity than many other players I've followed and you get more unrest than they do. As I said, it just a theory.

@@ClarkyKenty72DailyP You know, that could very well be true, lol. I do spend it like a secondary currency. I wonder if I'm hurting myself?

@@TinyDragonLair Well... at least you are entertaining us in the process🙂 (and it IS just a theory)
