It took for me to travel to her county that is at war in order to get our child born abroad interview and after her citizenship and passport was established then I had to turn around a month later and go back to bring my family here to the U.S, I'm a Army veteran and it shouldn't have taken me 6 + years to get my family out of a country at war!

My son needs surgery in the US because this surgery isn't available in Jamaica. however they required some additional documents such as a letter from his doctor to state that its not available locally, proof of where im gonna stay for the duration of his surgery, proof of payment etc. I had my interview on the 29th of October and submitted the documents on the 3rd of November. It has been in AP since. How long does this process the for medical related issues?

My husband had his interview on 8/30/21. He was interrogated and asked questions not related to our marriage, made to sign a dictated, hand written statement declaring everything he said was truthful, then issued an 221(g). He has documented all that happened that day. The officer stated he feels our marriage is fraudulent despite mountains of evidence that says otherwise. My husband answered all the questions correctly. Please help us with this!

I recently faced a situation where my F-1 visa was canceled at the U.S. port of entry, and I was given a 5-year bar for alleged unauthorized employment, which I denied. The basis for this allegation was a WhatsApp conversation. The consulate in my country advised me to reapply for the visa, which I did. During my visa interview, the consular officer took my passport and documents,gave me 221G. I provided a letter from my university stating that I was not involved in any unauthorized employment, details of an on-campus internship, and evidence of my good academic standing. Additionally, I showed my net worth certificate from a Chartered Accountant and other supporting documents. Given these circumstances, is there anything more I can do to expedite my case? Are there any specific steps or additional documentation that could improve my chances of getting a waiver for the 5-year bar? Any advice on how to handle this situation to facilitate a quicker and favorable resolution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey Joshua! Greetings from Brazil! My case is: L1/L2 Visa process with strong documentation, but I have received 221g. Two facts: i got married 45 days ago and my parents tried tourist visas (and had a denial) in the same day I did the L1 interview. They kept my passport. Hello Josh, I had my IV interview on the 17th of Dec, my passport was returned to me and was asked to submit old and new pictures as proof of relationship with my mom. I did on the 18th of Dec. I originally booked for B1 visa interview, however I changed it to an F1 visa interview and I got the confirmation. When I went to the embassy for the interview they said they couldn't find that I changed to F1 visa interview, but when I showed the confirmation, they gave me another time slot the same day. The 221(g) is not a denial; it's a temporary refusal pending further action. The time it takes for administrative processing can vary, and unfortunately, there's no fixed timeframe. You can check the status of your case using the CEAC (Consular Electronic Application Center) online portal. The embassy will contact you if they need any further information or documentation.

Today I had my F1 interview in Mumbai. It went great. I was confident and didn’t fumble. And VO looked pretty chilled too. But at the end, he kept my passport and handed me 221g saying that everything is clear from his end but needs to do administrative processing in the afternoon. He didn’t ask for any documents. My financials are solid. No Issue with that. Is it just a background check since I mentioned UAE in countries visited in last 5 year on DS 160?
