Johnny, I for one am glad that you are focusing on the future. We on KZbin (At least for me) believe you have the best reloading channel around, real top shelf stuff. I too have reserved a channel under 'Thorsaxe' over on full 30. I also believe that KZbin isn't thinking things out, Many viewers out there just watch Gun channels and that is all they watch. We will see in the future what happens. I will continue to support your efforts and cause for the science of your projects on Patreon as a monthly contributor. I feel that everyone should who watches you should. (That's Just me) Good shoot'en to ya. Dave.

I love your videos. It's like how I had to load for my dad in the 80's and 90's. His loads had to have a 1/2 inch group at 100 yards or I wasn't doing it right for him. He did his own loading in the 60's and 70's. He loved his .30 calibers. He rebuilt his M40 the same as he used in the service. He never liked the AR platform he had to have his M14. That's the rifle that he used when things were bad. It took me weeks to build a round up for him. When I turned hm on to the Weatherby mark v rifles he went nuts and spent $3500 setting it up on 30-378. He still shot he M40 but the Weatherby turned into his go to rifle. I had to build rounds for him for 100 to 1000 yards. I still have all his log books from 66 until he passed away in 2004. I'm sure he would have wanted to meet you to talk ballistics and compare load data. Once a month his buddies would get together and go to the Whittington center to shoot. It was jaw dropping to hear thier stories. They had a very odd sense of humor. Anyway watching your videos brings back a lot of good memories for me. I still can't shoot as well as my dad but I am always trying. I wish I still lived in Denver so going to the Whittington center was closer. I wish I was in a better position to be able to donate to your patreon account. When my wood shop takes off I will donate. Then I can get back to the place I was at with all the nice Firearms. Now I only have 6 of them and 3 are investments so I don't shoot them. Happy shooting.

First and foremost: Thank you for just simply putting up normal content, very much appreciated, its almost relaxing amidst the madness. (I did like the video explaining the issues) I think dailymotion overall looks very clean and seems super easy to use. The color was a bit funky though. It had all the options i normally use and just over all seemed very clean. Cant thank you enough for all your hard work.

Daily motion review -Clear Sharp image "better than KZbin" Excellent Depth of Field, No Video lag or stutter, Good Audio. Video loaded very fast, Faster than KZbin "used link provided". Color Balance was a little Yellow for my taste at the Bench,, at the range you nailed the color balance "still using incandescent bulbs or wrong color balance setting on camera" Overall impression Very Good. I didn't log on to the site so some of the features were not turned on. Hopefully you have found a home for the channel :)

You should try Alco bullets in this caliber. 90 gr: G1 .627 77 gr: G1 .512 62 gr: G1 .450 Not having a polymer tip will also help with accuracy. I have recently found that the polymer tip seems to be more prone to having flyers. I discovered that by accident. Than found a technical article by hornady where they found the polymer is subject to friction heating and thus deformation when in flight. I had all but given up on the Valkyrie and was about to convert my Valkyrie's over to something else, being tired of the inconsistencies, but after trying the Alco in my f-class 308 and 284 winchester and getting some dramatic improvements in precision and accuracy. I will now be trying them in my Savage LRP Valkyrie. They cost more, but considering they are precision rifles a person should NEVER shoot the cheap stuff through them.

If possible, I'd like to suggest shooting the heavier bullets at 200 or 300 yards for accuracy testing. Especially with cartridges that must be loaded to magazine length. Long bullets with secant ogives and shorter bearing surfaces may need more time to stabilize, especially at lower velocities and making a longer jump to the rifling. You may be surprised at the results, just load up a few that looked promising on the data side of things and sling em further. I have beat my head against the wall begin rigidly locked to 100 yard ranges before.

I am shooting a 24" barrel from White Oak with 1 in 7 twist. Witt Machines MRE, Midwest Industries handguard, Anderson receivers, a polished DPMS trigger group, Sharps Rifle company reliabolt. Shoots consistently .6 moa-.8moa with the 75 grain factory loads. The varmint loads show promise but are around 1 to 1.25 inch groups. I've had the 90 grain eld put oblong holes in the paper and are good then bad then ok not very consistent. I'm acquiring equipment to reload, I can't wait to start developing loads

Dailymotion worked good. Clear picture, ran in 1080p on my Mac. Had one moment where it rewound about 2 seconds then no issues after that. If it's not a hassle I would all gun channels move to that! I hadn't heard about it before and it was better than Full30 (most, if not all videos there are only in 720p). Awesome vid. as usual!

Yes I see your point, but it just nags at me because the 224V was #1 designed for the AR 15 and #2 to shoot heavier bullets farther than 5.56x45. and I have seen a couple vids elsewhere that they were getting repeated 0.25-0.44 groups at 100 YDS and several sub MOA groups out to 400 YDS while maintaining super sonic at 1250YDS with the FEDERAL 90gr GMM SMK and that is what drew my initial attention and interest to this chambering. but that barrel in the vid I seen was a 1:6.5 JPE 24" Prototype barrel and is the only one I have seen do that. but I haven't seen any production barrels as of yet that are 1:6.5, they have been only 1:7.0 twist shooting mostly 1.00MOA - 1.50MOA at best at any distance starting at 100YDS. Not to mention Federal has plans to release a 100gr Fusion round and 1:7.0 shouldn't stabilize that round at all. so it just leaves me scratching my head as to what they are thinking. That is the only thing at this point holding me up from buying a barrel now and I want to shoot the 90s and 100s at least sub MOA at 100YDS

I just did a ladder test on cfe and 4895 and had pretty good results. Barrel is a jp 22” I just got a couple weeks ago. Problem with the 4895 was I just didn’t have enough gas to fully cycle a round. Ended up single feeding. Cfe did not have that issue. Used 82gr Berger and federal brass, gmm ar primer and went from 24.8gr to 26 gr. Avg moa was .7 moa with five 5 shot groups. Low was .6 moa and high .767. 4895 gave me a best of .295 but did not cycle the next round with gas wide open. Will try varget and 4350 soon. Oal was 2.209 on my cfe rounds, 2.203 on 4895. As a reference , I can put 10 shots of the American Eagle 75gr into an inch. Not quite as good with hornady 88 Elds. Think my sweet spot is closer to 80gr

I have a Savage MSR15 in .224 Valkyrie and have been testing the Federal factory ammo. The barrel is the same length and twist as what is being used here (18" 1:7 twist). I am shooting from a bipod with a rear bag. I am not using a suppressor. Shooting 5-shot groups at 100 yards, the Federal 90 grain Sierra Match is the worst performer. The Federal 60-grain Nosler round seems to be shooting the best. Handloading comes next, but I am going to be dissapointed if I cannot get the 90 grain to work much better in the Savage barrel. I am going to stay tuned to see what he tries next.

Great videos! I have the PSA 20" upper with 1:7 twist barrel and I have run over 100 rounds of the Federal 90 grain match ammo through it. Groups are dismal. The best group I have got so far is 3 1/2 inch. I am waiting for the Lee dies and case trimming tools to begin reloading. I am going to start with CFE 223 and the 77 grain bullets. I am very disappointed with the factory ammo thus far.

Hornady concentricity Guage is a must on high bc bullets.... With a 7 twist sometimes it takes a few hundred yards to stabilize... Button pulled barrels, silencers and magneto speeds also cause variation as the barrel heats up.... I would go for groups with as little attachments as possible... It's odd that as your SD decreases your groups are opening up.... Velocity is low as well.... Try h335..... Velocity will not be high but it is consistent....

What advantage is there over a .264 offering? 90 grainers got some awesome specs on paper but I am surprised to see them not deliver for you yet. 77grains seems to be on par with .223 Remington for the most part. I'm starting to think, after the trouble you've had with 22 Nosler and now the Valkyrie, that if you want to shoot high-BC 22 bullets, the best way to do it would be to grab a Savage rifle with a .308 bolt face, and have a prefit barrel chambered in .22-250 with a 1-8 twist. The higher case capacity would (probably) make higher velocities available, so you wouldn't have to have a 1-7" or 1-6.5" twist barrel. Shilen makes prefit Savage .224" barrels in 8", 7.5" and 7" twists.

Johnny, This video has somewhat restored my like for the .224 Valkyrie. Most of the groups I have seen people shoot are in the 1.25"-1.5" range those 4 sub MOA groups helped a lot. I was starting to think this round was going to be a bust. Do you know if anyone is going to be making a 1-6.5 twist barrel? I wonder if that will help out the accuracy of the round. I was about 1 day away from getting the parts I needed for an upper from Brownells, Then I found your videos and others.... GHAAAAAA!!!!!!! BUT, I have kept up with your progress, Thanks. As this round progresses I hope I can refind my love for it like I love the 25-06.

It seems like as the bullets get heavier you have more spread. Which makes me think the barrel's length or twist rate isn't enough to stabilize the bullet. But, what makes me think about what is going on with the consistency is the barrel isn't stabile in the upper. www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/rifle-tools/receiver-tools/ar-15-lapping-tool-sku080000182-20220-44377.aspx This tool is pretty innocuous but, it's also a pretty telling tool. It makes sure your barrel is bedded in the upper perfectly. It seems to have eliminated the fliers in my groups. Buy some 600 grit paste with it.

I´m wondering what kind of an effect the twist rate would have. I believe you said you are shooting a 7¨ twist. Any idea what sort of difference we would see? Is it worth trying? I understand that is easier said than done.

Maaaaaaate....... 0.6 & 0.8 MoA with a shortish barrel semi auto @ 100yds isn't anything to sneeze at. See if you can beg, borrow, steal a repeater and try the loads in it. Hell, even build one, lol. I think those groups would shrink quite a bit, but the results you achieved are, imho, bloody good. Cheers from downunder

How far from the lands are you seating the bullets? I'm also getting bad groups with SD between 6-8fps. So far I'm quite disappointed with 224V

I'm wondering how long these barrels are gonna last at 3000 fps? I'm still holding out on the 224 for now.

Yet another great video. The accuracy is just not impressive .. I still love my 22-250 , and that will put some tight groups together around 3,700fps. I hope the groups get much better
