Rough Crafts is a Taiwanese company, the Chinese do make knockoff versions of Rough Crafts custom motorcycle parts at a much lower price. The grips that you've bought look like Chinese knockoff versions of the H-D "Get-a-Grip" type, the genuine H-D version have a bar & shield engraved on the ends of the grips, the Chinese ones have plain ends.

Your videos are like mine; amateur, real, honest, and likable. Looking for a decent air cleaner for my `94 Road King with an S&S carb when I found your video. The old S&S chrome cleaner is worn and pitted. Looking to spend $100 or less for a chrome air cleaner that is decent.

Thanks, this was an old sporty I did and it worked out great. But for a road king, I'd probably go a different route. But like I said man thank you I try to bring honesty to all of my reviews. I'm not one of these guys that gets paid to give a good review on a product. I try to be completely honest from my perspective now there are people who may not agree with me but that's OK. you need a support bracket from tc bros ( 30.00) , then chop off the bolt nubs and get some breathe bolts (45.00) - tc bros has a basic filter (60.00) like this but NO bolt wings ( it is held on by support bracket ) otherwise this will leak oil into carb ( and probably all over bike ) like any other

You blocked the hot air/oil mist breathers that filter it back into the engine. Did you fix that ?

I installed one on my mom's sportster yesterday and was test riding and the volt that holds plate and filter on broke that's for the insight on 1/4 20 rod

I read that on the reviews of this product before I bought it, but I never ran into that problem partly because I didn't keep the bike very long, I Sold it very soon after finishing it, but the time that I did ride it I never had an issue with that bolt breaking. It would be nice if the threaded rod that they used was a better quality.

Correct. I have a 01 sportster with screaming eagle air cleaner. It has breather bolts and holes inside the air cleaner for gas and oil to flow back into the engine. Ends up spraying oil all over the filter element.on the air cleaner he installed There are channels milled in the Back of the plate that go up to the bolts. So if the bolts are breather bolts then it's breathing there and will most likely stay oil all over the side of the engine.

Yes, if you pause the video when I have the back of the carburetor backing plate turned towards thecamera, zoom in and you’ll see that there’s channels in there for the breather to go back into the intake inlet. Maybe I should’ve highlighted that a little bit better in the video, but the breather bolts I put in are not solid bolts. They have holes in them to allow the breather to breathe back into the intake, and for everybody who says that it will spray oil all over the bike, that never happened to me with this air cleaner. Although I didn’t keep it for a long time, I did sell the bike quickly, but in the time that I rode it, it never sprayed anywhere.

No I did not, sadly the bike sold a couple of days after I finished it. Never really had a chance to to enjoy it.

As with any “high flow air filter” you will need a rain sock, if you believe they’ll keep the rain out.

So have you got the bike tuned after air cleaner? I've just purchased the same air cleaner and have a knock off version of the vance and hines staggered short shots exhaust system installed. People are saying you should've got the vance and hines exhaust and air cleaner in order to use FP3 fuelpack tune App.

Ok so the bike in this video is Carborated not fuel injected, so the fp3 will not work in this application. What I did was re-jet the carborator. On fuel injectioned motorcycles you would use a tuner. Now I do run a fp3 on my 2017 road glide and can say that no you do not have to use vance and Hines products for it to work properly, there is a list of all the top aftermarket manufacturers built into the fp3 you can chose from to get your tune, and if a certain manufacturer is not listed you can email vance and Hines through the app with your bikes set up and they will put a map together for you and email it to you.

No tuner needed because this bike is Carborated not fuel injected, so you don't a tuner but you will have to adjust the carborator. Possibly even re-jet it, however I had no problems with how the bike ran.

@@bigshow65 I have retrofit one of these to fit my buell blast turns out the air flow is not good the stock air box I was running a 185 jet ran perfectly 👌 now with the new air filter is restricting the air I had to switch to a 170 jet and it's still running a touch fat. I couldn't imagine this on a v twin.

Just FYI Amazon sells top name brand air intake systems like trask and Roland sands..ect...these companies sell their products using Amazon because they can reach more buyers. Now that's not to say that there isn't Less reputable companies selling similar products. People are crazy and do the craziest things for their motorcycles, Low budget customising of motorcycles has been done since the late fifties so yes to answer your question, people are dumb enough to buy an air intake system off Amazon.
