@aldredske61974 жыл бұрын
@@InTheWoodyard Yes you are right. That big wood is hard to make fast production. That's why he gets it so cheap. Nobody wants to wrestle those big rounds around. Big hard splitting stuff like that I rip directly into 4 × 4 and 6× 6 blocks stove ready. I usually just take my 660 Stihl Clone with a 20 inch bar and make short work of the whole block. My back can't handle working even halves and quarters of blocks that size. By ripping them completely all I have to do is roll them into the open. Might loose a couple of blocks from the saw curf. But it is really nice firewood and the pieces work great for stacking up the ends of the cords.

Wow! Chris some big splits your brother generates, does he have Little Joe or Horse stack them. I’m guessing they are for a furnace or big fireplace a little to beefy for casual burners.

You have a good eye John, his customers all heat with wood so they want mostly bigger chunks! Thanks for watching!

As much as I hate to be that guy..... that much big wood belongs in a big processor. Uh, if only right?!! I get into logs like those 1 in 10 I’d say which isn’t terrible. But nothing but big stuff will wear a guy down. Big time yields though!! Hey more stuff Chris, Nothin better than seeing family get together makin firewood!

Thanks Mitch, tomorrow we get back at the logging job!

Most big processors can't handle logs that big in diameter.

@@markhowes126 Mark, you are correct, only the real big processors!

Your brother's tractor saves him a bunch of time... are you any closer to pulling the trigger on one? Keep up the great work and stay safe!

Gosh would I love a high powered Stihl or Husqvarna, but my wallet says I can only afford Echo. I'm not complaining about Echo, they're great saws.
@InTheWoodyard4 жыл бұрын
Listen closely, GET A BIG SAW!!!! You will love it and cut more wood faster and with less effort!!!! To me and my brother good saws start at 70ccs and up! There is no comparison to the small 50cc saws and under!
@admranger3 жыл бұрын
I always wear my Kevlar chaps when cutting. Uncomfortable sometimes, but not as uncomfortable as a saw in my leg would be.

Think he needs to invest in some new equipment. On a different note poor Texas we donated 30 cords of hard wood to Houston and surrounding area. I know thats not a lot but every little bit help's.
@InTheWoodyard3 жыл бұрын
That is new equipment for him! Nice of you to do!
@leonardhesch97684 жыл бұрын
Instead of bringing the ram all the way back, paint a line at 17" so you don't spend so much time waiting on the ram to come forward to make contact with the wood. It's More efficient.

Good idea Leonard, I'll mention it to him!

Unlimited Power! Lol. Awesome. Saw the end of the first tank... how many tanks did you go through? Seems like you get about a tank per cord with your saw and the smaller truckload logs back at your woodyard... Do you guess its about the same here, even with the thirsty girl?... depending on how much ripping you do? Each one of those logs must be dang near 2/3 or a full cord?
@InTheWoodyard4 жыл бұрын
Ya she is a thirty girl for sure, I think maybe more than a full cord per tank with it on the big stuff anyway. Ya, those logs are a lot of wood! Greg, tomorrow we go logging!
