As a huge fan of Saifedean's other work this was greatly disappointing. I hope he doesn't go into anymore interviews so emotionally charged. I came into this feeling very neutral about what's going on, knowing we're lied to by mainstream media and many other media. As a fan of both Saif and Konstantin I thought this would be very enlightening. What I saw from Saif was preconceived notions about who his guest was with no interest in hearing him out or having a good faith argument. Just insults "NPC, Zionist". You're a NPC with a very basic understanding of this conflict. You know Hamas was barely elected by a slim majority in 2006, when the voting age was 18 and you'd have to have been at least 35 to 36 years old today to have voted in that election, and that makes up less than half of their population, of which almost half of that voting age who voted did not vote for Hamas, so you're talking about a current-day minority of people who voted for Hamas. It also doesn't help when Hamas is funded and supported by Israelis. From what Netanyahu said, "We control the height of the flames." This was their strategy from the beginning, they are aiming for no partner for peace so they can say, Look what we have to deal with; they don't want peace. Also, why does Isreal stop them from having any kind of port or trade partner or allow them to have their own source of water supply that they don't directly control? The majority of people don't say they have to feed them, but why are they refusing them aid from foreign countries? Why are they preventing them from building their own infrastructure to be self-sufficient? Why is the Israeli government stealing land from Palestinians in the West Bank? Why are they trying to push off the gazans to other countries with worse Infrastructure that can only take in a few migrants due to resource constants Why do they have multiple laws on the books that restrict Muslim and Palestinian residence of both the West Bank and those who still reside in Israel? Why are there Jewish only roads and settlements of previously owned and constructed housing form Palestinians? A lot of those houses were constructed before the state of Israel even existed. I suggest that you have a look at WIkipedia in the page "list of terrorist incidents", where there's a very long list of terror bombing attacks against civilian targets, all over the world, that occurred before Menachem Begin was even born. so your claims are completely and utterly false (both about Begin and about Zionism), It would be nice if you could step up and retract those false claims.

0:05 🎙️ The host introduces Constantine Kissen, a comedian and podcaster, as the guest on the Bitcoin Standard podcast. 0:23 🌍 The discussion will focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with the host offering a perspective from someone who grew up under Israeli occupation. 1:18 🇮🇱 The host asks Kissen why he identifies as a Zionist, defining Zionism as supporting a Jewish state in Palestine. 2:06 🧠 Kissen clarifies that he doesn't consider himself a Zionist and speaks from a place of limited expertise on the conflict. 2:30 🇵🇸 Kissen expresses skepticism about the purity of Israel's creation but acknowledges the current reality of the state's existence. 4:14 🤝 The host highlights a misunderstanding: being anti-Zionist doesn’t mean wanting Jews to leave or die but challenges the displacement of non-Jews in Palestine. 7:04 📜 The host provides historical context, explaining the complex history of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim coexistence in Palestine before the Zionist movement. 10:18 🚫 Kissen refutes being labeled a Zionist by the host's definition, stating he does not support the deportation or killing of non-Jews. 10:59 🔥 Kissen views the October 7th attacks by Hamas as a terrorist act, emphasizing the targeting of civilians, not a legitimate act of resistance. 12:20 👥 The host argues against comparing suffering by population ratios, stressing that all civilian deaths are tragedies, regardless of numbers. 14:45 🔄 The conversation intensifies with a debate on whether the October 7th attack was about freeing Palestinian prisoners or simply an act of terrorism. 17:19 ❌ The host challenges the claims of rape during the attack, suggesting that reports have been exaggerated or falsified. 20:09 🗣️ The speaker disagrees with the idea that Hamas is not evil or barbaric, emphasizing that they are murderous terrorists who deliberately targeted civilians on October 7th. 20:57 🔥 The guest argues that many civilians were burned, possibly due to the Israeli Army's actions, rather than being killed by Hamas directly. 22:02 🚗 The guest suggests that Hamas didn’t have the capability to burn cars at the Nova Festival and attributes some destruction to Israeli forces. 22:26 ⚖️ The guest believes the Israeli Defense Forces' (IDF) actions towards Palestinians are far worse than what Hamas did on October 7th, framing it as a larger, ongoing injustice. 24:34 🛡️ The host strongly rejects the notion that Hamas's actions on October 7th were justified or comparable to Israel's actions, stressing that it was an act of terror. 26:54 🕊️ The host acknowledges that Israel’s creation was not without fault but emphasizes that no wrongs by the IDF justify the October 7th attacks by Hamas. 29:06 🎯 The host highlights the difference between military operations aimed at rescuing hostages and terrorist actions that deliberately target civilians. 31:25 ❓ The host challenges the guest to clarify how many civilians they believe Hamas actually killed on October 7th, expressing skepticism about the guest's claims. 35:06 ⚖️ The host makes a distinction between targeting civilians and collateral damage in warfare, asserting they are not morally equivalent. 37:17 💥 The guest criticizes the host for not condemning daily violence by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, questioning the host's consistency on condemning civilian deaths. 38:15 🛑 The guest expresses frustration with the concept of "condemning" actions, seeing it as a meaningless gesture, and explains why they avoid condemning either side. 40:04 💣 First civilian-targeted bombings were by Zionists in Palestine, leading to criticism of selective condemnation of violence. 41:01 🗣️ The guest denies frequently commenting on the Israel-Palestine conflict, refuting claims of bias. 42:09 🤔 Discussion shifts to whether Israel’s actions in Gaza are aimed at eradicating the Palestinian population, with conflicting views. 44:47 🏛️ Mention of Israeli Finance Minister’s alleged goal to drastically reduce Gaza’s population. 46:06 🎙️ The host challenges the accusation of ignoring genocidal rhetoric, citing previous discussions on the topic. 47:04 🔍 The guest insists that accusations of bias are unfounded, asking for evidence of such claims. 49:00 🧠 Debate over the definition of genocide, with disagreement on whether Israel’s actions qualify. 51:04 🛡️ The host argues that Israel could commit genocide but isn't doing so due to self-restraint and strategic considerations. 53:20 🎯 The guest claims Israel aims to maximize civilian casualties while maintaining plausible deniability. 55:39 🚨 Accusations arise that Israel is engaging in ethnic cleansing, with strong disagreement between the parties. 1:00:02 🔥 The Israeli Defense Minister's statement that no civilians are innocent and will not receive aid is criticized as genocide. 1:00:19 🌍 The host compares the Israeli military actions to other armies, claiming it's a standard practice in warfare. 1:01:01 🛑 The guest argues that Israel is openly genocidal, a unique situation among global conflicts. 1:01:13 💵 Claims that American and British support for Israel perpetuates the conflict and genocide. 1:01:33 🔄 The guest is frustrated by accusations of being a biased Zionist NPC without evidence. 1:01:57 🏛️ Debate over whether the host’s views are influenced by identity politics, with the guest asserting they are not. 1:03:27 🧠 The host argues that the conflict is not identity politics but a matter of differing interpretations of the facts. 1:04:09 🏗️ The guest claims Israel’s destruction of Gaza's infrastructure is part of a deliberate strategy to make it unlivable. 1:06:01 💥 The guest accuses Israel of using excessive force and aiming to destroy Gaza's livability, likening it to a form of ethnic cleansing. 1:07:30 ⚖️ Debate on whether the conflict’s perspective is influenced by identity and whether that affects the assessment of actions on both sides. 1:09:27 🤔 The guest insists their views are based on facts and history, not identity politics. 1:11:20 ⚠️ The guest argues that any justification for Israeli actions against Palestinians is inconsistent with the treatment of similar actions by Palestinians. 1:15:04 🚨 The guest claims Israel's historical and ongoing violence against Palestinians far exceeds the justification for current actions. 1:16:01 🏥 Criticism of Israeli treatment of Palestinian prisoners, including torture and administrative detention without trial. 1:17:21 ❓ The guest questions why the same standards don't apply to both sides in the conflict regarding the justification of violence. 1:18:10 💣 The guest condemns the notion that Israel's current actions are justified by past events, arguing that neither side’s violence is justifiable. 1:19:00 📉 The guest emphasizes that human civilization relies on rejecting violence and upholding property rights, condemning propaganda-driven support for mass murder.

"Guest" and "host" are often wrongly used.
@archfriend4 ай бұрын
@@dameanvil no, literally, you are using "guest" when it's the host (Saifedean), and "host" when it's the guest (Konstantin), and then switching them back again. It would be a great summary but you fucked up.

@@dameanvil you did accidentally switch guest and host a number of times So it’s not consistent. I would recommend fixing it

Disappointing. Saif is so emotionally charged that he can’t have a good faith conversation. Konstantin was levelheaded, patient, and polite.

Saifdean...I'd love to hear a discussion between you and Rudy Rochman who has conversations like this one, with the sole purpose of uniting Arabs and Jews rather than continue this endless conflict...I think it is a conversation completely worth having since you both are knowledgeable historically and can dig into the deeper details in a way that is not possible for someone who doesn't live there and doesn't fully understand the history.

Saif can never lose bias on the topic and as an Israeli I don’t bloody blame him. That does not make 100% of what he says right because at least 50% is bs

Does Konstantin win some sort of patience prize after this?

Found you off the back of this session with Konstantin - you need to learn how to debate better pal... you were shown up with your combative style and constantly flooding the zone with various things that others have said - rather than focussing and doing your homework on exactly what Konstantin's positions on the Gaza conflict are... You also refer to your guest as a Zionist NPC.... would it be ok if Konstantin had referred to you as a Hamas flag bearer? Would you feel that as a fair comment to categorize you as? Also - you loved to speak about Palestine as a country or nation existing prior to Israel being established after WW2... pray tell before it was known as the British Mandate of Palestine - what was Palestine during WW1 and for centuries prior to that??? I will give you one word to do some research on... Ottoman Empire - (read up on it) - find me the place in history when there has been an independent nation called Palestine rather than a province of another empire... Bonus points awarded if you even declare who named the region Palestine...:) I can provide you a place in History where that region of the world was called Israel/Judea and where a Kingdom of the Jews existed prior to 1947...

Konstantin handled himself with respect, curiosity, humbleness and amazing moral character while the other guy seem to be emotionally attached to his side of the argument that seems to be willinful blind and is more interesting in making false claims about Konstantin just to win the argument.

This is obviously a very emotional and visceral topic, but that doesn't mean it will help you to argue in that mental state. Unstable argumentation will only embarrass yourself. Most here in general agree that the situation between these nations needs to change quickly and radically. Perhapse, you could have practice debates beforehand in the future if you want to continue this in the future.

Minute 7, and already 90% of Saifedean's words are absolute lies and propaganda based on debunked conspiracy theories... so bad it is actually funny. Awesome satire material... but painful to take seriously. Anyone who knows a TINY bit of history of that region find Saifedean to be a clown here
