Today we turn our 23HP Tillotson 228 powered Mega Moto mini bike into a killer flat tracker racing bike! We install much larger and more aggressive wheels and tires, which gives us better grip and stability, we install a tachometer, and we upgrade the brakes. Then, we unleash this racing mini bike onto the CarsandCameras Grand Prix, where Ike lays down a really fast lap time!

Dudes, you’ve inspired me to order the same wheel/tire combo for my old Gilson mini bike. Pretty sure the bike was designed with the 10” or 12” spoke wheels in mind but the lower models came with more typical mini bike sized tires, which then makes the trail measurement too small and it’s unstable as heck. Wobbly and you can’t let go of the handlebars or it’ll flop over. Lol Good stuff guys!

CableTie Technician Liam here. Try cutting the cable tie end off with a nail clipper. It cuts them really flush with the buckle part and stops them being sharp preventing little cuts if you accidentally rub against them.

This little thing looks cool. There a little window behind the rear axle, you could weld a plate in there and redrill to move the wheel back 2-3 inches by the look of it. Keep up the good work lads!

Yes!!! Put the biggest caliper on the front!!! It's the wheel with the most Braking Traction!!! ;-) The front heats up more any way when braking and can use the larger Caliper for much less Fading from overheated Brakes... I just love your format that mixes the fun of riding with the Technical Information needed for those Wins!!! I would like to see more information on Crankcase Ventilation, specifically regarding the pro's and con's of a Atmospherically vented vs. a Vacuum/Intake oriented Crankcase... I'm a retired Industrial Engineer (Automotive Technology) I already know the fields research regarding lubrication flows and the impact vacuum has on how oil travels thru the cylinder rings, for lubrication, but what happens when a "Total Seal Gapless Ring" is inserted into either of the Top or Second Ring landings??? I am in the group of those who are thinking that a gapless ring requires both Crankcase Vacuum, a PCV Valve and a more perfect system would use a catch Can between the Intake/PCV Valve as a separation device to keep the Intake as oil free as possible... (Reducing carbon buildup on the Piston surface and Rings) It's an ole' neglected and inherent problem on all internal combustion engines!!! Thanks Guys!!!

Looking good, nice lap Ike. Regarding the bearing in the bonus content, pack some new grease into it, replace the seal, it'll be fine. I repack those type of radial ball bearing at work all the time to get extra life out of them.

I use a ruler or straight edge pushed up against sprocket and use washers to get wheel lined up with pulleys or block etc. or even string.

I would suggest welding your bushings to the frame with gussets. You have a serious weak link with that cheap axle on the chain side between the wheel and the bushing.

You guys should try a 212 on a dirt bike chassis I put one on a yamaha trailmaster with a seized engine and its been alot of fun to ride. The larger tire size gives you really good top speed and allows you to put a good sized sprocket on to keep some torque.

Kind of off topic, but y'all should build an offroad lawn mower when the trophy truck is finished. That would be super cool! Get a mower and put v-tread tires on it and maybe even attempt some sort of suspension system. (IFS in front and maybe put leaf springs from a trailer on the transaxle) Just an idea. I have wanted to see this become a reality for a while now, and you guys are just the kind that would do it!

Be cool to see what you did to get the correct spacing for sprocket and brake. But I get that it probably wasn’t a worthy show piece for the tube. I did a frame stretch on the same kit with the same 10” wheels, currently figuring out what is best to do for spacing for sprocket and brake. Want it to be able to withstand 4000hp;)
