Our limousine mini bike handles very strangely with three riders on it! In today's episode of our 3 seater 3 engine mini bike build, we fabricate and install chain guards, add handlebars, and most importantly, install our brakes! We then all ride the 3 seater mini bike together for the first time. This 3X Tillotson 212 powered bike has a ton of power, and it handles very weirdly!
Thanks for Watching!

If there's a next time ..( I'm sure there will be ) that your using long bolts to bolt stuff together ..the handle bars ..put a piece of pipe in piece ..3/8" pipe same length as inside of box tubing ..that way you'll get you through bolt to tighten ..without squashing your box tube .. Cool project ..👍😎😉

Today I picked up 5 old generators, all with OHV Briggs or Honda engines, and most of em turn over. Tapered shafts, but they could be machined down. I also picked up the remains of two quads! Super junky, but the rear axles will make a great axle and jackshaft for my super jenky FRONT ENGINE go cart. And they have disc brakes too! Free stuff is good.

Couple of things. The chain guards between the engines, if they're solid mounted you might bust a engine case if there is much frame flex. The passenger handle bars can use short bolts and just bolt to the top of the tube if you're welding the tube to the frame anyway, also keep it from quashing the tube. Rear chain might need to be larger (run down to a jack shaft and run 520 chain maybe?) since you have that much HP going through it and weight to push down the trail
@ayyron69
@ayyron69 2 жыл бұрын
On the chain guards, you could cut out the inside wall of the square tube so it can just slip over

The three stooges ride again! 😂 I think you've over thought those handlebars, I bet your all trying to steer at the same time? You might have been better off with onset and the passengers had a loop between their legs to hang on to. How much slop is there in the final drive chain? It might be an idea to build in some flex room and add a tensioner also do away with the quick link they are a weak point.

A word from the wise to you master fabercaters since you would never figure out you can simply use well greased blocks of oak wood from pallets. For really great chain guides and supports the various shapes and sizes of lumber from wood pallets of oak make the best chain guides and tensioners possible. Wood chain tensioners were used on dozens of farming applications oak and hickory were the most common. As a young mechanic 50 years ago we had to make do with what was available to keep the wheels turning and some of the best technics of yesterday are still the best today. You can start with grinding a groove in a proper placed and greased piece of oak of almost any length then after a short time the chain cuts a perfect groove for the rollers on the chain to run in. After that its simply a matter of keeping the chain oiled properly. This also can keep longer chains from whipping jumping off and causing the destruction of the sprockets and clutches. This is a simple trick I used before you all were born. Try it out you may learn something useful. I see the constant damage and lose of chains on your videos just thought to let you know there is a better way and the oak wood is prevalent and cheap. One pallet can make potentially a few dozen tensioners and also can be used for chain guards with a little imagination. Hope you give it a try can't possibly make you look any dumber.

Back in my riding days, I used to tell my passengers that they shouldn't lean but rather just stay straight up relative to the bike. That way I could control the whole thing myself because their weight wasn't moving around much. They became part of the bike, as far as I was concerned. This seemed to work best with a single passenger. I never rode with two.
@rugbyguitargod
@rugbyguitargod 2 жыл бұрын
Yea, but having them do that can put them at a much higher risk of falling off of the motorcycle, especially if the driver has to make a quick maneuver to evade an accident. If the passenger is trying to keep themselves upright during a maneuver like that, it's very likely they would not be able to shift their weight quickly enough to compensate and could cause them to fall off the bike, and would make it harder for the driver to maneuver the bike quickly and safely. The force of the passenger balancing themselves would effectively cause the bike to react much more slowly as their weight shift is opposite of the direction and weight of the driver & bike itself as it rotates on its axis. TL;DR: its much safer to have a passenger keep their body weight/position more or less identical with you & the bike.
@N1RKW
@N1RKW 2 жыл бұрын
@@rugbyguitargod - It seems that we are talking about the same thing here. My intention was to state that the passengers should stay upright relative to the bike, not relative to the Earth. That way their weight effectively becomes part of the bike and the rider can more predictably control it. If the passengers are moving around relative to the bike, it can cause all kinds of problems controlling the bike, which is precisely how I learned to tell them to sit straight up (relative to the frame of the bike) no matter which way I might be leaning.
