This reminds me of the hotel Georgia in Vancouver. Unique spaces that are not everywhere. I love that they have Scottish products. Every hotel should have a small basket with these things at a minimum if the country wants to shown off what they love

So nice that you had some nice weather. And that you found your way to Dean Village. That area along the Water of Leith from, say, the Gallery of Modern Art (One and Two - there are two) to Canonmills (Inverleith, location of the Royal Botanic Gardens) is absolutely fabulous...my favourite place in the world. With great eats, plenty of indie shops, many streets to walk...all those good things, the area of Stockbridge, which includes Dean Village, is really the gem of the city centre. Though Dean Village is increasingly popular, thankfully not everyone visiting realises that, so the bulk of the tourists congest the Old Town and Princes Street while the New Town remains relatively quiet. Worth noting: when in Dean Village, the buildings on the south side of the Water of Leith - all those white ones running up the hillside - are modern, dating from 1960s onward. Much of the area was derelict by the 1950s, so a program involving renovation, demolition and reconstruction - helped along by a massive fire - essentially reinvented the area into what it is today.

Edinburgh is lovely! The hotel looks quite welcoming too :) Hays is so sweet... this is the 2nd time he has shown concern about 'people sleeping' :P Last time it was people in the plane above sleeping. We really do need people like him in noisy India! So nice to see him all excited to meet his babysitter and be all shouting about that when in a street, away from sleeping people :P Seems like a day well-spent in Edinburgh; looking forward to Denmark! :)
