This used to be the old capital of Vietnam. When Gia Long decided to move capital from Thăng Long (Hanoi) to Huế to avoid the invaders from the north cuz its too dangerous. He built the citadel with over 100 buildings in 20-30 years (till now its only 1/10 of the buildings left with some of the king’s tomb because of the french war and french people destroyed it all to replace with the french buildings)

On the hot day like this, you should try out Chè Huế. It is sweet, Thirst quenching and definitely delicious with very reasonable price. I would suggest Chè Cầm, or Chè Hẻm

Thank you! We will definitely have to try this out when we're back in Vietnam. 😄

@@marshallandaimee we heard about heat. We were planning for next August but we were advised that August is both hot and wet. What month did you guys go?
@marshallandaimee2 жыл бұрын
@@kevinandange We were there at the end of August and beginning of September. It's very hot during that time! We had almost no rain in Ho Chi Minh or Da Nang but the heat was borderline oppressive! We've heard the weather is much better in December/January and even gets pretty cold in the north. We think we're headed back there at the beginning of November so we'll see! 😅

Tip for crossing street in Vietnam: Many tourist foreigners scared of traffic in VN . Don’t worry about it! The rule to win this fear is keep routin slowly walking when you across the streams of motobike! motor-bykers knows how to avoid you themself in chaos-order! remmember do not runs and stop suddently , accident immidiatly ! Don’t be affraid off and do it if you want to be safety in the crazy- traffic in Vietnam.

I paid more for my McDonald quick meal of Big Mac, fries and Coke. And I didn't even super size it.

It’s truly is wild how inexpensive it is! McDonalds in Vietnam is actually more expensive than most traditional meals. 😅
