I’m a prison supervisor, and genuinely, I love your content my man. At about 12mins and 30 seconds, you mentioned your isolation and the way jail has made you. It does the same for staff mate, we all live and work in a very unnatural environment. When I’m out and about, I prefer my own company. Im 26 Span and when you talked about kids walking around with grandparents it made me tear up. I was happy because i have a lot of fond memory with family gathers and travelling and also made me very sad that those times are over and the next generations wont get that feeling. I dont want to sound too dramatic im young of course but even this young i can sense and feel that. You are a very well articulated guy its always fun watching and listening to you. We as your "silent travel companion" hope that you will bring us to more places like this.

Loved your observations and comments about kids walking with grandmother and pure life. You hit the nail on the head. We got back three days ago from a lengthy trip to my wife’s hometown in Greece. Exactly that. Friday, Saturday nights in the town square (platia), EVERYONE is there. Families, every generation, kids having a blast playing soccer and other games, parents sitting nearby in the taverna or cafe, the church doors open, etc etc. like you said we are poisoned, safe open community and family togetherness just doesn’t happen in western cities. And what parents would take their kids and grandparents to the city centre late at night in the west. No way. No wonder we are lost.
@leonmohan1708Ай бұрын
Wokeness is the evil that's destroying the family unit and christianity along with tbe whole pride lbgtcq movement. All designed to lower morals, take away the family unit by saying women should be ashamed to be good mothers and wives. The woke agenda has made christianity feel ashamed of our history and culture. All this together has made tbe populace weak and fragmented and to ashamed to speak out through fear of being labelled a racist or right wing. I didn't see one rainbow flag there or blue haired ugly fat people screaming at passers by stop the imaginary genocide of trans people! Wtf! It's very telling we not seeing this in towns like Vigo or the place on Greece u spoke of.

I mean why have kids if they cant enjoy family?

Cheers from a Galician residing in Sydney! I’m still amazed that you have connections to my homeland. When it comes to English, it’s worth mentioning that a Spaniard can explore the globe using their native language and can chat with Italians, Portuguese, etc, without any hassle. In contrast, people from Germany, the Netherlands, Nordic countries, and several other nations are required to know a second language to communicate when they travel abroad. This is one reason why many Spaniards don’t prioritise learning other languages. Interestingly, until just a few years ago, French was the second language taught in Spanish schools, rather than English. People in Spain know that Spanish ranks as the second most spoken language globally (based on true native speakers), following Chinese, and it surpasses English by a significant margin, although this might not be acknowledged in English-speaking nations. It's not a competition, just a fact, but I hope this sheds some light on your questions about why Spaniards don't prioritise English. Cheers, mate!! Keep going, awesome videos!!!

17:40 As someone from Portugal, just wanted to mention, the reason you see way more old people is because Portugal and Spain are one of the world's most aging population, people are not having kids, so there's a bunch of "boomers" and elderly people in ratio with younger people. Combine that with the younger generation heavily immigrating to other European countries such as France, Switzerland, Luxembourg etc, it becomes heavily noticeable. I love watching your videos, you show every side of your travels and I love your honesty, it's really authentic and true to heart. Keep it up 💪
@levels1752Ай бұрын
I wonder why people are having kids less, Is it just a cultural shift or because of most people relocating? If I was born there I’d never relocate, it’s stunning!
@jjkanal640Ай бұрын
@@levels1752 it's because of household income. Portuguese people are the latest to leave their parents home in the whole of Europe, not due to culture but due to the inability to afford it. So couples are marrying later, leaving their parents home later all due to having no disposable income after paying all the costs. The average wage is around 1000 euros a month while renting a room in Lisbon or Porto will cost you 800-1000 euros a month due to lack of policies and laws preventing foreign investors. In summary, people can't afford to live so they don't want to bring another life into the mix. I know "back in the day", people couldn't afford to have kids but will still have them, so there's definitely a cultural shift in the mix (people would rather travel and enjoy their lives if they can afford to). Portugal is a beautiful country so it's definitely sad seeing such a downhill but I guess that's what happens when greedy people are in charge 😢

When spanian got emotional about the innocence of that 12 year old with his grandmother, one could sense that Spanian was speaking of the life he would have wanted for himself at that age. It was like his innocence was taken away from him, at such an early age. I really believe the life that Spanian now lives, is one of being reborn. Trying to experience, feel and taste life the way or as close as he can to the real Spanian at heart.

Galicia Calidade.... the next time you´re in Galicia you have to visit "Las Rias Baixas" Sanxenxo, O Grove, Cambados, Vilanova de Arousa and the Illa da Arousa. They are small villages.
