Goddess, you have such a radiating and vibrant energy which is transmitting directly through the screen, especially since the beginning of 2015! There is something new to it which is totally contagious. It is nurturing and wants you to climb a mountain, fly to the moon, reach for the stars and grab the brightest one. Thanks for sharing your colorful soul with all of us. Oh, and Spock as a god is totally cool! )O( Blessed Be

I totally love what you are saying about Dogma because my beliefs are a huge hodge podge and I couldn't be happier. I call God whatever I feel like at anytime: God, Universe, Source, etc. I work with Mother Mary and Angels. I like to journey and my power animal is the frog. As a result, I have been researching frog mythologies and finding many goddesses are associated with frogs. I agree...they are all archetypes that have lessons for us. The animals, symbols, gods & goddesses that are all coming into my consciousness are all about birth and rebirth and I am able to see the smaller and larger patterns of those themes in my life. I understand that I am being divinely guided in my life and the impact my spirituality has that on my life is invaluable! The best part is....I no longer need to have my path validated or approved of by others. That makes all the difference.

Great video - like drinking a deep mug of honey tea on a cold dismal morning 😊 When I was younger I used to "pretend" that my mirrors were actually secret screens that connected to the U.S. Enterprise and that Picard was observing me through my life to recruit me later on Hahahahaha It sounds crazy now when I think of it but in a way it shaped how I taught myself a code of behaviour of how I wanted to be as an adult - humanitarian, respectful of different beings/ cultures and to explore the unknown .....

Your reflection upon your relationship with your patron Goddess brought me to ask myself the question, "Who is my patron goddess?" A question that I asked many years ago when I was a small girl. In Elementary School we were doing a report on a Greek god or goddess and we were asked to come up and choose a god or goddess that was being read in a list and pick up a packet about them to read. I heard the name Athena and every cell in my body stood up and came to life, I felt her call to me. I jumped up in my seat so forcefully that I startled everyone in the class room, I drank her up, everything that I could read about her but the greatest source of information that I drew from was my experience of her. I saw her in my minds eye, my imagination, gleaming in gold and an alabaster white robe, shield and helmet, owl spirit on her shoulder. She has been an ever present force in my life but what I love about her the most is that she never forces her perspective on me but supports my very strong connection to my intuition and allows me to make the decisions that I know are best for me to make but when I am resisting the right choice she uses tremendous might and warrior strength to wake me up. I have recently had a major and spiritually violent shift in my life that led me to take a very bold, forceful and self righteous step to improve my life, my future and my families future. I realize that she has never left me, even when I abandoned myself during my twenties and a bought of deep depression she has never left my side. I feel strongly that her influence will never fade from my life. Through my deep intuition and strong connection to my higher consciousness she brought me to the world of sovereignty at a very young age and she has brought other spiritual sources and guides to me throughout my life that provided me with great insight and wisdom. And your words about Lilith have brought me to a memory of my first meeting with her and I do believe that she is another archetype that requires some attention and rediscovery. I am so very great full for your wisdom and experience because perspective is one thing, it is the promise of experience without the matter of fact and practical application and experience is the intuitive knowing and hours of searching, reading, meditation, tarot, dreaming, astral traveling ect..... Thank you for being you.

34:53 WOW!! We can give future generations pantheons to believe in from this lifetime! Like Spock! Can you imagine people praying to Spock like he is a God (one extreme), or working with him as an ARCHETYPE! Wow. That just really blew my mind. Because way back when, let's say for people without TV's and computers, they created, for instance, "Brigid" as essentially an archetype of strength, resilience & persistence (as well as other good qualities), because that is what they needed to have at the time! But people have different beliefs about the world in general and how it all works - so some people thinks she is a Goddess to be worshipped, and others can look at her as an archetype - both ways are valid. But what needs to be taken away from this, is that WE CREATED THEM! To give us that angle of looking at the world. Great point Kelly-Ann! This video is so deep! I LOVE IT!! Thank you!!

I’ve been watching all of Kellyann’s deity videos recently, I just started deity work from a soft polytheist standpoint and I really love how she talks about the divine in general. One of the deities is Lilith, and suddenly she started talking about her and interacting with a goddess with limited mythos and I was so engaged with everything she said. Thank you Kellyann, you’ve been like a witchy mentor and role model for me for so many years. I really appreciate all of your content.

Yes yes yes to the discussion of pop cultural pantheons. I'd love to hear about people's beloved faction characters in their spiritual journey. Buffy the Vampire Slayer has always been key to my sense of the Divine Feminine though for a long time I dismissed this connection as merely the preoccupation of hardcore fan girl.Only recently have I said "Oh eff it" to traditional rules about mythology and started to make her more central to my practice. I've made a set of prayer beads I use to tap into some fierce slayer energy! Maybe this means I need to do some reading on Chaos Magick!

Studied her a lot in school and I always liked her more for the rebellious nature that was described. I connected with that. So I'm glad you discussed her because I wouldn't know where to read more about her. I sometimes worry if I am truly seeing things or connecting to deity while meditating or if it's my imagination. But if it feels real to me, then who cares. It helps me out and I feel safe when I go to the same place when I meditate. I like the idea that "everything is spawned from consciousness." And maybe there is more truth in that than we are giving credit to. Great video!!

Thanks for your words as always, new and old. They make this gal feel like she's not so alone, and very much on the right track.

Just finished watching and again it's funny how people with similar minds come to similar conclusions under different circumstances... I was thinking just the other day about the archetypal value of book characters and the purpose fiction serves to partly replace religion in our culture. I just realised that you even mentioned this as well... that many viewers tell you that what you talk about in your videos is pretty much exactly what they were thinking about themselves. It's like the ethnological/evolutionary concept of two specimen of the same species of primates on two separate islands with no means of communication between them coming to the same conclusion at the exact same time that sticking a stick into an anthill... You know what I mean... 😄 Those moments always blew my mind when I first started to follow your channel. But now it happens so often that it doesn't really surprise me anymore. It just makes me stand in awe of the interconnectedness of the universe and the human experience and those small everyday traces of magic(k).

I love that comment you mentioned by agatha, it made sense to meet up with him (Odin)in that intellectual way, certain deity are more so accessed intellectually rather than a deeply emotional way- not saying that one wouldn't get an emotional response, but that it might come later...based on how the person would get essentially turned on. Basically, I get what she's saying, because on the flip side, I have had a solely emotional/duh moment when I was introduced to my own deity. It's interesting how everyone can have that click moment regardless of how one would make that deity connection.

What a video! Amazing! I've been struggling with the idea of connecting with deity personally, as I couldn't come close enough conceptualize having a relationship with a divine archetype. I came from a Christian background, in which the deities were very much, for lack of better terms, 'real', wholly defined, nothing outside of, all consuming and absolute. So I've been unsure how to proceed with deity as a pagan. In the beginning of my journey I just went with it - because that's what all the cool kids were doing! But for me they just didn't vibe, it was forced and I had to step away. I found I absolutely connected to Earth and our Gaia network - so have been on that path and getting comfortable with using names for her, like Mother and Gaia, which has brought me closer to feeling authentically open to other deities. Once again Kelly-Ann you've spun glittery fairy floss and verbally put out the words that I've been grappling to form up top. I feel this video has revealed a stepping stone I've been searching for. And all that about the realm of the human consciousness ..Oh my god - YES! Love you, love your work. Thank you. I'm going to go back and watch it again now! Much love xx

Mother Earth or Gaia is the only one I felt a strong connection to and comfort. She tugs at my heart and soul as I grab on to her. I love my earth and the spirit behind our planet is my main source of divinity for me, even though I have tried to connect to a god or goddess. I feel like anything else is not as strong as Gaia. Do you feel this way? I'm asking because your comment is exactly the same story and place as mine. I will find I am attracted to certain deities but enough to confidently say they are my patron. Perhaps, I just need the idea of Gaia.
@Owlvine9 жыл бұрын
sunstar7watcher I think Gaia - Earth and all that makes her up, is the most potent... energy collection, that I connect with at this time, yes. I've realised my difficulty with connecting with deity has been that they're very much human-forms, creations of the human mind, which as Kelly-Ann mentions in this video, is all we can ever hope to know. However, coming from where I have, I felt I needed something more... unrefined... 'pure' if you will, less constructed by humanity. Earth is here, and obvious and absolutely 'real'. Apart of me, us and very much her own 'being'. In saying that, I have been using names like Gaia, Mother Earth etc to become more comfortable with humanising, I suppose, those energies and spirit. I do see the incredible power of working with deities, and I will be exploring that more. I'm not sure I'm getting across what I mean, what do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts and if any of this resonates with you, and if it doesn't more on your experience. :)

I like what the deities represent ( the modern meanings) and find that their persona meanings has enough power to help influence me internally. I guess I am more of a Pantheist, though. I think god is the universe, therefore, everything is god, including us. You can take just about anything that connects to you on a deep level and use it to help feel connected to something higher then yourself. Most people need a more human life form to visualize spirituality and sometimes, I feel like I do, too. The idea is pleasing to me, but I had to get real with myself. I know I can't truly believe there is a goddess Athena somewhere, watching and protecting. But somehow Athena and the motion of her is part of the higher power that flows through all. I still have a lot to discover myself and no way knowledgeable to feel confident in my understandings. I tend to like the safety of logic but being emotional and creative, logic isn't enough to satisfy me on a spiritual/ psychology level. ----Maybe, you don't need to have a deity, just gathering the understanding of their importance and meaning. ----- I think you are doing fine on your journey and I hope you find what you seek.

Lightbulb moment in 2017 was watching "American Gods" on Amazon. It's a favourite of mine because the show encapsulates my understanding of the Divine. The Gods of any pantheon are reflections of the greater reality, and are available to all whosoever and whereever you are. The scene that nailed it for me was Eostre's Garden Party, where several different Jesuses were sat around the pool and partying with other deities who came to the party because Eostre as the goddess of fertile nature was at the height of her power despite being co-opted and obscured by Christianity. She still survived, although in a distorted way because we still believed in her.💡 This is a great series, and a great episode which makes me think that Gaiman may have studied modern occultism.

yes, the way i read the cards is so very different from how others read. also, how i understand divinity is unique. i was mistaken for many years when i thought that what i wanted was to connect with like-minded people. i never did and there is a reason why. i don't really want to. i've never really wanted to. not in my entire life have i ever connected with like-minded people (and i'm 58 years old). it's sometimes a bit lonely to not fit in, but that's my lot in life and part of the reason i'm a "witch". being a "witch" is being one's own person. it's seeing and interacting with this human experience fiercely uniquely.

Imagination is a portal. In this deep sea of energy we live in, what you imagine becomes a pattern and the patterns present around you come in through your mind's screen. One ought to train it, for visualization means power. Everything takes place inside the self, for the self is infinite and the infinite cannot have an outside, but at the same time, consciousness has the ability to observe it all happening as if it were from the outside. Train your imaginations well, my beloveds, and you'll become psychic, mind readers, true witches and wizards. Shanti Om

Thank you so much for answering my questions! I've looked into chaos magic a little in the past, but I have a lot more research to do. What little I know is thanks to Grant Morrison (especially his Disinfo Con lecture, and his Pop Magic PDF). I was initially really attracted to chaos magick because it was so flexible, especially when it came to using fiction as a basis for spirituality. I think I stopped looking into chaos magic because I was having trouble giving myself permission to "break the rules." That was a while back, though, so I think I'm ready to give it another shot. Thanks again for such a lengthy response, you've made my morning.

I watched this from work - I am an ensemble librarian - while checking in hundreds of copies of tens of different choral pieces. This quite literally made my day! Recently, Pele came to me in a dream (on the night of the Leo full moon...rather fitting). I had specifically invoked a goddess/archetypal being to come to me in my dream in support of a major career shift I am embarking upon. (How apt, too, that you reference The Fool in this video..."Where's the occult, Toto?"...You have a fantastic sense of humor, btw). :) I don't feel she is my matron goddess, though. Weirdly enough, my matron deity has come to me in the form of a being whose name she told me was Alyra. She claims to be my inner Fairy Queen and she spends much of her time in hummingbird form - she is a Trickster and a shapeshifter, indeed. I have come to interpret her as a fragment of divine consciousness - Goddess/Source - which is my own Soul or Oversoul. I feel that She is the eternal aspect of which I, in human form, am but a transient manifestation. She is like my own personal goddess self. Have you heard of similar experiences? Of archetypal entities coming to work with people who blur the boundaries between self and other? Have you heard of deity-like beings appearing to individuals without being named deities with documented mythologies (even documented via oral histories)? Just some questions. Perhaps you could revisit these ideas in a later video (assuming you read my comment and feel compelled to do so). Much love and gratitude for your work. I stumbled upon it this morning and it has brightened my day exponentially. :)

I loved this video so much! I'm totally new to this whole concept so I've been binge-watching your videos on deities but this is my favourite. I love to hear people talk so passionately and it's obvious how energised you feel taking about your own beliefs. Hearing about others' experiences was amazing too, it makes the concept of such a vivid integration seem much closer to home and possible, tangible. As a side note, in another of your deity videos you mentioned Hades, and it reminded me of a story I was told as a child by my Nan. I know it's a bit cliche but she was experimenting with an ouija board with her two sisters and they received a message that said 'I god Hades'. Of course they freaked and barely talk about it, believing it was the devil (they are Christian), but through these videos I wondered if there was perhaps a different take on it. I'm not sure where I stand on the ouija board front so I have no idea If it's even worth mentioning but if anyone has any ideas, I think it could be interesting. Anyways, oh my god I fucking love your jumper!

Thanks for this! This has answered a lot of the questions I have been asking myself over the past few days with regards to deities, especially the stuff about seeing signs and whether they are 'real' or if I'd just gone a bit loopy... I didn't know anything about deities until very, very recently and it was something I was going to put on the backburner spirituality wise as I reasoned that I needed to read some mythology and have a better understanding before I looked into it as I am really new to everything. However, over the past week or so, I've been seeing crows a lot - outside my window, on the way to work, whenever I have left the house, really and I was reading a book on Wicca that mentioned The Morrigan and I thought I'd seen that name before and discovered that, weirdly, I had been listening to a piece of music called Morrigan on youtube with a picture of The Morrigan with a crow as the background image for about a month as part of a little Celtic playlist I had put together without knowing she was a deity! Since then, I have continued to see crows every time I leave my house or outside my window, so I am now trying to learn more about her so I can try to connect with her in a respectful way, but I have had a few 'have I just lost the plot here?' moments, so your video has put my mind to rest in that respect. :-)

Great video! The reason I think I might feel irrationally frustrated with the way people view my patron deity is: 1. Many confuse the dark chaos aspect with evil, pure evil. Having my patron called the devil never gives a pleasant reflection of yourself. 2. Many have that claimed things never worked or approached him... But just read the books. On the other hand, I know that such anger is pointless and I try to control it. I just think it's sad that many dark goddesses, but especially the darker gods get an evil stamp and a bad rep.

I do feel it's harder to connect sometimes when there isn't a lot of backstory or "focus" perhaps on a particular deity you want to know more about. Selene has been presenting herself in dreams and mediation to me for a while now, she's a lovely gentle energy and I'd say she's been around me for about a year, but there's very little beyond the myth with Endymion or how she transformed into the Artemis and Diana adaptations over time. It's frustrating sometimes when you're a book nerd yet can't find a book about her! Persephone also has been around but more secondary to me.

I'd rather it wasn't there of course, but at least it reminds us that life is very real and negativity is real, but it can be overcome with love and kindness. Eventually. Nothing like saying "thank you" to a bully! Peace and much love. (But seriously, how can anyone dislike you :-) )

Kelly-Ann, if I describe a figure that appeared during a vision, would you be willing to offer any insight you might have?

I tell people the story of The Morrigan calling me before I turned down the Christian path(and let me chose. I went way down a path that was so not for me My opinion, it works for other people I know, but not for me. ) and a huge thing hit me that I don't tell people much because it never seems super important, but I discovered Her, and started relating to and felt close to her from the book Red Branch by Morgan Llywelyn. Which seems crazy but that was it, and I suppose I could also argue Morgan Le Fay if people consider her a form of The Morrigan, but I was really drawn to her at a very young age as well. So through "Fictional" novels. Though Morgan Llewellyn bases on Mythology as closely as possible, but still, different I suppose than a big POW moment.

Really great video and subject matter, but I really would love to hear more of your thoughts on the relation between the imaginary impressions of divinity, and the transpersonal objective experiences with a deity. As someone who has suffered from a variety of mental health disorders this idea affects me a lot more than other people. One of the two disorders I deal with is Unwanted thought disorder, in which my thoughts take a mind of their own and it's very hard to let them settle down and actually get a REAL impression of anything, let alone an abstract thought form or divinity. Any thoughts?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I was especially intrigued when you said that even modern fictional characters could be like a god or goddess with whom one could communicate. I am at the beginning of my journey on this path, and up until now found it very challenging to find a suitable patron for me. I felt strongly drawn towards a certain type of fictional characters for some time now, but always thought it to be more like an attraction towards a fantasy lover. Well, perhaps that is what I am searching for in a patron - although I am unsure about this? Can this relationship towards a patron be like towards a (platonic) lover? Has anyone experience with this? Thank you!

I mostly agree but you have to remember some people here have found themselves connected with (spirits, Guides, Deity, ghosts,... whatever) that have decided to toss shit around the bedroom, some times in a nice way, sometimes not, but the point is things become less theoretical at that point, and so in my opinion when I meet a new spirit there is a difference between having an etheric conversation and the physical presence, perhaps it is in degrees but there is a difference P.S. I love the end you could do a whole puppet show with cards talking to each other

You mentioned a word a couple times here that I'm interested in the meaning of. It sounds like you're saying "I"m a K.O." ... but I'm thinking it's more a term connected to the word "chaos"... could you expand for me, please? Thx!

We each have a personal relationship with deities. How one persons relationship develops is different to how yours will. I explained it to a friend in this way One woman can be a Mother, sister, Wife, girlfriend, friend, lover, mistress etc its the same woman but ask the sister to describe her compare it to her lover the description will be different even though they are describing the same woman.

I had a dream I walked through my town full of people shooting eachother and at the top of street. I was brought to a table where a mobster guy sat with a woman in a suit. He told me he was the allfather and pointed to my neck and said "star rune" there was a pendant w a rune on it. I'm still in awww. Trying to figure it out. I never seek but had Hermes and apollo in dreams as well. The moon gave me a name and it had word Norweigh beside it. The name meaning meant fair one. And im pale w light blonde hair. I love my dream world although I'm still trying to figure it all out. Lonely w the people in and around me being at a completely different wavelength. But I always catch myself wishing people would leave me be. But only cause I don't have patience w what I see as stupidity

I've had the Morrigan calling for a while now..and I thought that I'd better get to reading her myths (I don't know squat about her, really). But then I decided I'd rather spend some time with just her and I, so to speak. I feel like there will be a time when I'll be ready to shift over to seeing the myths (super important, IMO)..and hearing other experiences. Something about reading a bunch - first, put me off. I want a genuine experience. So far..sew good. She's a fucking mermaid to me for now.. haha! =)

It's like we're all wearing different color glasses to see deity..and I'm sure..they speak to us in a language we understand. That's how the Morrigan came to me..I asked a matron to speak to me in my language, and she has. Fucking blowing me away! LOL Pissing contests = borrrrring. I use that Odin quite frikkin everywhere.. love it!

I've found your recent videos about working with deity to be truly fascinating! I was inspired by your thoughts (and by a conversation I had with my husband) and wrote a bit about how I perceive my connection to deity. Thought you would enjoy reading it, and if you have a moment I would love to know your thoughts on what I've written. (And hopefully I didn't misunderstand your explanation of your own connections.) Cheers! stormy-heart.blogspot.com/2015/07/plugging-in-to-deity.html
