Andy, many thanks again for your excellent content. As a long time off-track bushwalker may I humbly suggest that you pack a pair of sturdy garden gloves for pushing through the thick stuff. Took me years of hiking to discover this little gem of wisdom - from an old (no longer published) publication of Bushwalking in South East QLD. There are so many unexpected thorns in the Australian tropical bush. I guarantee it will be a huge improvement to the ease of your journey. And it might be overkill but a hiking friend has worn eye protection ever since he got a lawyer vine thorn in his cornea on a walk in the Blue Mountains. Nearly blinded him in his dominant eye. Keep up the great work and all the best to you and yours!

I already knew what video you were talking about with the Cane toads before your campfire story session because I watched it a month or 2 ago and thought he was crazy! I think those survival videos would be cool! Maybe you could build almost like a bush shelter somewhere and keep coming back to it for a few days at a time to “simulate” being stuck out there for some time. Might make for more interesting videos because then you don’t have to focus on shelter, and other things and could focus on foraging and catching food.

Andy when looking for water and you cant find any you can do the following: Dig a hole in the ground, put lots and lots of greens in the hole, put a cup or container in the middle of the hole and make sure it wont fall over. Take a plastic sheet and cover the hole, make sure it is as air tight as possible. Then make a small hole in the plastic by the container or cup and put a small stone on top of the plastic where the hole is. As the sun shine on the plastic there is condensation on the plastic, which should run down to your cup and drop into it. After a few hours you should have some drinking water. You can also try lining the hole you dug with plastic and the fill it with saltwater, the rest is the same as above. The water should evaporate and condensate against the plastic and fill your container. I think this will give you more water per hour in the sun and the salt should stay in the saltwater. I have not tried this method, but it should also work. Love your vids mate

Awesome video mate , i did notice some very nice straight saplings you could use for a spear should you forget your fishing line Andy , should you forget your knife to sharpen it with you can always improvise with sharpening on the rocks and finding some twigs to use as chop sticks to eat with should you forget your eating utensils lol, Nature provides my friend, food was plentiful where you were, loved it . Thumbs up.

I would love to see a 5 day survival type camp trip at a tropical island. Maybe build a shelter and catch/cook? Would you consider making that happen?

For sure that sounds like a great episode, I just need to make a few before I can do that otherwise I will miss two weeks or more of uploads

Loving these +45min episodes Andy. Looking forward to doing the survey, would be great to flick some lures with the master himself! Fingers crossed 🤞 Also I read a comment on here about a “spooky” storey for the campfire, I think that’s a great idea! Keep it up Andy, you are by far the best thing on KZbin.

Thank you for your kind words. My girl from now on is to only make overnight videos if I can help it, obviously the weather will play some part in this.

Catching some nice fish! If I were you I would invest in some snake gators for added protection, here in Oklahoma I wear them a lot when I go crashing thru the bush.
@Andysfishing4 жыл бұрын
They are no good for front fang snakes, only rear fanged snakes.

@@Andysfishing I had no idea, we have a lot of water moccasins around my area so down by the creeks I like to wear them. They can be aggressive when you stumble upon them.

You said you never have any luck not breaking the tip of those "pack" rods. I found that some cheap cigars will be sold in a plastic tube. This tube fits perfectly over the tip when it's all packed away, giving it some "armor" against bends or a good cracking against trees or rocks if dropped. Easily slips inside the carry case, and is likely less than an ounce in weight. Anyway, works for me :)

That sounds like a great idea, my friend Andrew actually sell cigars so I’ll give that a try, thank you
