What Christmas movie is highly overlooked or never talked about?

Not totally overlooked, but Lethal Weapon opens with that great rendition of Jingle Bell rock and is a movie I think about around Christmas.🎄 Also, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, also written by Shane Black and great holiday vibes.

Unaccompanied Minors is one of my favorite "overlooked" Christmas movies. I've heard people describe it as a worse version of Home Alone, but I absolutely love it.

I've heard of that one just haven't seen it yet putting it at the top of my list thanks.

I love Ernest saves Christmas
@80sMadeConsumer27 күн бұрын
It really is a classic! I remember when I first watched it I was 7 or so and thought it was the funniest thing ever. Just the opening scene with the cab. For some reason I couldn’t stop laughing.

It’s the first Ernest movie I ever saw; therefore, my favorite one!

@ nice I think I saw Goes to camp in the summer and Saves Christmas around Thanksgiving break and in the spring goes to jail. Then the following October saw the Halloween one. Knocked them all out in the same time frame. I’ve never seen another Ernest film and watching the trailers I think I’m good haha
@IndiephantomSofaSinema26 күн бұрын
Awesome list because lots of these I haven’t seen yet. I also associate Christmas with when some of these movies were released. Edward Scissorhands came out around the holidays, and so did Ed Wood a couple years later so those both remind me of the season. I even remember seeing some movies during storms around the holidays which makes the memory even more special.
@80sMadeConsumer26 күн бұрын
Thank you, that’s a great way to think of it. I know some movies came out in the summer so they would hit home video in time for the holidays. Theres probably a ton of movies I watched in theaters with snow on the ground and never thought to watch them around now.
@IndiephantomSofaSinema26 күн бұрын
@@80sMadeConsumer Yeah I specifically remember rushing in from a storm to see Ed Wood. Yeah, the video relrase for Gremlins was around Xmas for sure and it was a summer release.

I didn't know Babes in Toyland was on bluray now I need it i loved the movie as a kid, I prefer the animated one but they are both great movies, also I seen someone post earlier that Sound of Music is considered a Holiday Tradition this time of year and I have never heard of it the entire 32 years I been alive
@80sMadeConsumer27 күн бұрын
@@DareDevil0504 Babes in Toy Land was put out by Kino a year or two ago, flew under most people’s radar. Sound of Music really that’s a new one for me. Been a long time since I saw it, but a holiday one doesn’t ring any bells. Just did a quick search and it’s not a holiday film, but it’s usually on tv during the holidays and the theme of family loosely ties in the holidays. I still don’t see why haha
@DareDevil050427 күн бұрын
@80sMadeConsumer thats why it didn't make sense to me I know I haven't watched it in over 20 to 25 years but I just haven't recalled anyone ever mentioned it being a holiday movie since most people either enjoy it but it's too long to watch often or hate it because it's a musical so for them to say it was a holiday movie just confused me earlier today

I have a new submission for this genre of films. Re-watch Terry Gilliam's Brazil and tell me it's not a Christmas movie that has slipped by unnoticeable for decades. There's Christmas themes throughout that entire film. I didn't notice it myself until I watched it back just recently.
@80sMadeConsumer27 күн бұрын
Will have to do that soon, I don’t own the movie. I’m sure with fresh eyes it’s super noticeable. As and Adult realizing First Blood is a Christmas Movie 🤯
