I ran into Ralph, Tony, and Furio at Lodi Pizza back between 06-07 on my way home from middle school. My friend’s family owns the joint and we would go eat there during half days. Saw the crew and actors not thinking much and then little by little surrounding crowd would get bigger and bigger until my friends dad said, “What’s the matter, you kids scared to ask Tony Soprano for a picture?” The guy who I would later learn to be Furio then walked into get a soda. I always thought the “ponytailed” guy was part of the crew until just recently that I have become obsessed with this show. The actor who plays Ralph, Joe Pantoliano, said that you first start hating the guy, a mean psychopath motherfucker. Then you start laughing at his jokes and you kind of appreciate him and eventually you love Ralph. And when you are enjoying all his dialogues, decissions and punch lines they kill him. What's more is that they act the tragic death of his kid to show that he has feelings too so you like him even more. Very good show, very good writing.

It's interesting to see the contrasts between Tony and Ralphie: Ralphie cooked his own meals, Tony's meals were served by Carmella or Artie, Ralphie was also in better shape than Tony. Ralphie was content with his sociopathic nature while Tony tried to suppress it with drugs and therapy. Both of them were intelligent and were focused on making money.
