No one has ever told me how to ride properly. i learnt by watching lots of racing videos and trying to copy how they are positioning themselves on the bikes. however, i could never understand and it felt very awkward trying to copy without actually understanding the basics. i hope this video gets to people who are wanting to know how to ride properly. this is a bible of riding on track fast.

Relax... It's only been 9 moths and that's still considered within the limits of 'soon' in Italy
@JoshTunbridge14 жыл бұрын
Only for 1000cc specifically, 600s more suited to U turn. What he is meaning for the V is the 1000 is so powerful it makes more sense to use its straight line power for speed rather than in the corners. So, heavy on the brakes, get the bike turned and full gas earlier. This is why 600s catch 1000s in corners and 1000s overtake coming out corners and on straights.

I've been subscribed to your channel for at least a couple of years and your 25 tips videos have just come up on my recommended list. I've just watched part 2 and 3 (and will go back and watch 1) and your content made total sense. This series is seriously one of the most content rich, informative and useful that I've ever found on You Tube. I really appreciate you taking the time to make these videos, and especially the extra effort of doing it in English - so thank you again. I'll also go back and watch your more detailed video on the positioning of the throttle hand, as this is an area I need to work on. If part 1 doesn't have anything on using the rear brake to enhance corner entry/tip in, I'd love to see this too.
@HardwareG33k4 жыл бұрын
I think one of the most valuable things about the way you teach these things is that you show a great example of how NOT to do it. When you don't know how to do something, it's difficult to understand what happens when you don't do it correctly or why what you're doing isn't working. That plus your excellent explanation followed up by a correct demonstration makes it very easy to understand. Grande!
@Panos_Chatzi4 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of people on KZbin talking about motorbikes, but you are one of the very very few who knows what he's saying. The trophies behind you are probably the biggest proof of that. You are doing a GREAT job with your videos and I've learned TONS of things from you. I have participated all the levels of Riding School here in Greece (similar to California Superbike School) and I can tell for sure that everybody who wants to improve his riding skills (and his personal safety) should do the same and everybody should subscribe to your channel. Keep on the good work, you rock!!!

Good video ,I’ve been track riding for about a year and a half now. Finesse and smoothness are definitely the trick , for some reason I have faster lap times on my Honda cbr650 than I do on my BMW 1000 rr because I’m smoother and more comfortable on the 650. I’ve been working on my footing and technique and not worrying about my time ,the faster time has come after I got the rest of the fundamentals down....great video again, thanks 👍

I took a class recently and found a great chicane trick for turming with the breaks. Say the first turn is left, then right. If you enter the left turrn at a substantial lean, you quickly blip the brakes. It will stand up the bike and you use the momentum of the rising bike to shift your body and the bike to a right lean and acceleration. I have never been able to do chicanes so quickly and so smoothly.

New subscriber here, I just discovered your channel. Having been on and around motorcycles most of my life I thought I was a pretty good rider. Well, this past summer I went to my local track three times over a two month period. Saying it was a humbling experience doesn't come close to describing my time on the track. I am now officially addicted. I am honestly amazed that I have not yet gone down or off the track, although I have blown a huge number of corners and driven over very many apex curbings. 😁 I am striving to learn all I possibly can to improve my riding on and off the track and the information you are sharing is very much the same as they are teaching us here in the classes. Your explanations and examples you are showing are excellent and very understandable. Trying to apply them however will be the real challenge for me. 😃👍❤️🏍 Thanks for the great videos and keep yourself safe! Randy

I'd say that's gotta be one of the most difficult things to have to learn is keeping full throttle right up until the exact moment it's time to come off throttle and apply brake and keep the amount of time between those two things close to zero. The last thing you wanna do is apply the brake too late, but too early and you eat up your track time. Also the powering out of the corner and remembering to stay somewhat off the bike when first throttling out of corner and then immediately getting over the gas tank to keep front wheel down and remembering to ease into full throttle as smoothly and still quickly as possible without getting the wobble effect. Ik its gotta be insanely rewarding once you have mastered all of those techniques and can execute them flawlessly and literally becoming one with the bike

Very good summary of the most important points. I think upper body movement deserves a bit more, maybe even its own video. There are a tonne of things on the lower body and most folks who are serious about it master it rather quickly, but upper body is something I find more difficult. What do you do to get used to the neck position with head tilted so much up, for example? Do you rotate out the outer shoulder at all? What about head? These are more fine points, but there is little on this out there I feel.

I,m normally at mid to fast fast group pace and over the years I've had quite a few offs. What I've learned is that in my opinion you need to get straight back on your bike asap. If you leave it too long to ride again it takes time to build your confidence. I also like to film my laps. This will help you understand WHY you crashed. Hope this helps
