Wow Mickey you did a great job! Love the comparison of both the UK and Ghana and the advice you gave at the end. This is food for thought! January 4 2025 marks the third year of moving from the UK to Ghana with a family of eight. Imagine the cost of living for a big family like us in the UK:) I speak often with my friends in Stoke-on-Trent where we used to live and the rent and mortgages plus utilities have really gone up. They say we left at the right time. Sometimes it’s intuition and how God orders one’s steps. Yes the cost of living has also gone up in Ghana and many parts of the world and I feel for those on fixed salaries due to the inflation, but nothing beats the lifestyle here😊

I would say the window closed at around 2010. Between 2000- 2010. Livinig anywhere where was cheap. London was affordable back in 2000- 2006. The days when you could buy groceries for a whole family(5 people )for a month on £200 are long gone, and rent was maybe 1/3 of someones salary. Basically the UK went to shits from 2008 onwards. Three blows hit the UK: 2008 crash, COVID, Brexit and the slow flooding of rising rent prices🧐 rents have become unaffordable even outside London in recent years. Forget living in London or the surrounding towns.
