Hi friends, and welcome to another adventure-filled post from Yosemite National Park! Last week marked the highly anticipated reopening of Yosemite’s Tioga Pass Entrance, and I couldn't wait to explore this stunning alpine route. Tioga Road, a true gem of the Sierra Nevada, offers breathtaking landscapes, serene lakes, and vibrant meadows. Join me below and I take you through the captivating sights and experiences I encountered during the first week of its reopening.
The Tioga Pass Entrance is open for the 2024 Summer season in Yosemite National Park. Connecting Mono Lake, Lee Vining, and US-395 with Big Oak Flat Road, Tioga Road features some of the best views and things to do in and around Yosemite, including multiple waterfalls, lakes, and trailheads to easy & strenuous hikes. Read this travel guide to explore the current conditions on opening week.
For more information on the current conditions along Tioga Pass, check out my full Flying Dawn Marie blog post at: www.flyingdawnmarie.com/new-b...

Thats awesome, I hope you have an incredible trip -just make sure to bring the bug spray…I got eaten alive by the mosquitoes in the Pothole Dome/Soda Springs area last week but it was totally worth it!😂

@@flyingdawnmarie Thankyou so much. I will make sure i will get OFF. Also i read your blog couple months ago regarding tioga pass. It was like a proper guide with exact location references that even google maps doesn’t provide. Thanks again i will keep checking your travel experiences.

We didn’t this trip because the mosquitoes at the trailhead and also heading out from around both Pothole Dome and Soda Springs were absolutely wicked last week…normally I’m not too bothered but I didn’t have a mosquito net cover and I would have really needed one - but that just means we’ll have to head back again (hopefully when the mosquitoes have let up a bit!)

Thank you for this video! Do you think it’s likely for people to suffer from altitude sickness by simply driving through Tioga Pass with the AC on?

Bring your mosquito nets if visiting Tuolume Meadows or Soda Springs. They were brutal last week. I'd swear they had teeth...

Definitely! I know I said in this video that the mosquitoes are out in full force but Pothole Dome, Soda Springs and the edge of Tuolumne Meadows were especially brutal…even moving they were biting me!

I can verify this to be true lol. Wear shoes that cover your feet. I gor at least 10 bites on my feet bc I wore sandals.

@@johnyjsl9219 Tuolume Meadows is part of Yosemite. If you're referring to Yosemite Valley, I didn't see/feel many mosquitoes there in early June.
