I want to give Doug a huge hug and a smack in the head. He can't hide forever, sooner or later he needs to face his problems. He made a promise to Ste as a business partner and he needs to hold up his side even though it's super complicated with them. Nothing will get solved while he hides in his room. I think it's good that's he's started talking to his friends at least. I love how they were supportive and loving.

Why take the "for ages" that literal. Ste and Doug have become fast and close friends over the last couple of months.It is obvious that Ste quickly placed Doug as one of the more important person in is life. Why is it so hard to believe that he liked him but never acted on it because he respected the fact that Doug was 'straight'.

they should really use that word more often. it's not they're afraid of it or something, but the only way to justify someone like Doug's new found attraction to Ste without dismissing all his past relationships with women its the word they should use, yet why dont they?

AWWWWWW I feel bad for both of them.....the "I liked him for ages" thing threw me, he did like him for ages as a friend, but there was something more there from the beginning in retrospect, guess Ste realizes that now

Loved Doug in that Red shirt. Loved the Ste & Cheryl scene. I'm glad they mention Bex. I think the Boxing Day episode was to show that she was not 'the one' after all. He lost someone he loved/adored but it looked liked if she was still alive it wouldn't have worked out due to her conning. Anyway i like this drama & can't wait for Stug to get together.

i think he's talking about doug, he's always kind of flirted with him, extra long hugs and good chemistry, even if he wast completely aware of it. but since he thought doug was straight he didn't put too much into it.

I don't mind Stug happening but I hate how it seems like the writers are pulling affection out of thin air. When did Ste even have time to have a crush on Doug with all the Brendan/Noah/Rae/Amy drama? And they hardly had any kind of relationship for a very long time. It's only when they both auditioned for the job at Tony's that they started interacting 1-on-1. Also, they really need to start accepting that bisexuality does exist. In fact, Doug could've been demi-sexual. It's like Texas said: you can be attracted to a person, not necessarily a specific gender. They don't all need to have this big gay epiphany followed by a coming-out storyline. It's been overused enough on this show as it is. Maybe I'd take Stug more seriously if it felt less forced. It's just happening too fast.

I kinda wondered about that statement too, seeing as how he basically needed Adam to tell him that he (Ste) couldn't get Doug out of his head. I don't think he'd even contemplated the idea of there being something more than friendship between them before then. And now he's "liked him for ages"? Well, I guess he's had time to think back and realize that he liked Doug as more than a friend pretty much from the start. Either way, AWWWW, they both look so miserable without each other! Stug

Exactly. While I wish they would have just made Doug bi to avoid this argument. I detest the argument that because someone once loved someone of the opposite sex that they cannot be gay. What we must realize is that love and sexuality is not that simple and it is through experience that we eventually find out the truth about oneself that is not easily explained with labels. And what Doug is going through is neither unrealistic nor unique.

First of all, I don't know why everyone has to have a label. You love who you love. And how can anyone know what ' Doug ' is going through. He's just a character, but I'm sure people deal with these confusing emotions in real life everyday. Until you've been in the situation, don't pretend to know how someone feels in their heart.

U know at first I was also like u (Ste is suddenly gay! why not bi?). But now I wouldn't have it any other way. I adore 100% gay Ste. He's such a cutie. I doubt I'll be gushing if he was with women. So I don't know. Maybe we need time 4 Doug to develop into this. and we'll be gushing too.

for ages? a hat? how ridiculous is this story getting? doug is bi but hollyoaks refuses to declare charcters bisexual, either they are gay or straight. and ste liked the boyfriend he met on line he didn't think about doug at all. the show is really messing things up and the ratings prove that. better if they stop changing characters to fit the stories and start to do the opposite
