That moment where they zoomed in on the Photograph of Ste and Doug, and then Brendan's coffee, that meant something. It was a moment of realisation for Ste. That Brendan will never change. And that Doug's worth fighting for. Ste's came up with a plan to get Brendan out of the picture so that the deli will be his, and he's able to be happy with Doug without BB interfering. At least that's what I think. Also, Damn you PJ for making me cry. That scene was amazing & really convincing. Stug love.

The moment Ste realised he wasn't as over Brendan as he thought and could fall back into his schemes so easily because that's all he wanted, when he realised the hold Brendan still had over him, when Brendan walked out laughing, he was close, Ste was close to giving in. Then when Doug came in bared his soul, was completely vulnerable and showed him his heart, Ste saw the truth, the veil was lifted, he saw the love he could have, the love he wanted and knowing Brendan, he saw the lies or Brendan's veiled truth and knew he had to make a decision. To knowingly and willingly fall back into Brendan's schemes because a part of his soul ached for Brendan or to choose true love, vulnerable love, the kind he wanted with Brendan but didn't think he would have, the kind he has with Doug. Throw away a kind adoring love for a dangerous obsessed love? The decision was clear and the only way to start over and truly cut the ties was to play Brendan at his own game. I love this scene. I love Brendan and Ste. I love Doug and Ste.

I know it's really late but I just have to say this... I've always said this, in any love triangle the good guy (Doug) usually gets the short end of the stick. Honestly Ste never deserved Doug, someone who was kind and caring and over the course of their relationship, truly loved Ste heart and soul and although I do believe Ste did love Doug it was never in same way or even as much as he loved Brendan. Unfortunately Doug seemed to always come second with Ste and ultimately I think it was his relationship with Ste that caused his death.

I understand the the Stug fans are all about Ste finally being happy, but hear me out. Yes, Ste and Doug are cute together, but Ste and Brendan have this intoxicating chemistry when they're both in a scene that makes it so addicting to watch. In the end, this is a story, and to me, Stendan makes for a more interesting and watchable one.

the kiss made me cry. partially 'cause of doug, but mostly 'cause i've been following stendan from the very beginning and i'm so emotionally involved in them. i know that this is only temporary and that ste'll go back to doug. maybe he's just fooling bren or bren'll do something stupid (again). but there's just something about him, i still love him after all he's done. that being said, he HAS to change. he did kill a man for ste. that sais something about his love for him (and how crazy he is.)

I don't know what to think watching this! I was happy when Brendan seemed to bare his soul to Ste, then thought RUN Ste when the evil grin was shown, wanted him to tell Doug that he felt the same way, thought he was mean to tell Doug to leave, wanted it to be Doug that he went looking for, was kinda pleased it was Brendan, liked the kiss, was disappointed that it cut to Doug instead of doing a nice close-up but didn't like that Doug was hurt. And now reading all the theories about Ste, worried!

fist: ste's obviously not going back to bren. he clearly has some ulterior motives here, he's not that naive. second: if ste actually did go back to bren i could kind of understand it. not because it's smart or healthy, because it isn't, but because he LOVES bren. you can't choose love, even if that love is fucked up. ste said himself "i love him, but i hate him!" the line between love and hate is fine - because it's so intense! i can't really see any intense chemistry or love between stug...

Brendan's smirk after his little speech might have been a smirk of relief? I mean, when I'm relieved, I sometimes smirk. :') I'm just trying to make him look the good guy here. I thought that his speech was the cutest and I thought Doug's speech was a little over the top seeing as they'd only been together a very short while but it was, however, adorable. I just felt uncomfortable watching it. When Brendan and Ste kissed though. I screamed inside. I will be re-watching this again and again.

Holy crap.... each day this storyline gets better. My jaw was on the ground this entire episode. Hollyoaks is perfection right now with this storyline. By far one of my favorite gay storylines ever. *Bows down* I gotta say, I think Stug is too adorable together and Doug deserves a bit of luck, but Stendan are pure fire. I get butterflies myself when I watch then interact, something I don't get with Stug. If I had to choose, I want Stendan in the longrun.

I truly believe that Brendan is redeemable. Will he ever be a 'good' guy? I think Doug's 'I love you' plea just showed us and Ste once again how vulnerable Doug is. It shows us he's speaking from his heart, too. This is not strange at all as some of you try to keep saying. Doug is an extremely emotional guy, who falls easily in love too. He even already tried to kill himself twice when something bad happened. Right now, he's desperate. There are people like that in this world. In HO, Doug's one of them. It's NOT unrealistic.

I agree with everything you guys are saying! It's tragic that Ste feels like he needs to go back to Brendan. Doug was definitely the better option, anyway, but it's more the fact that Brendan doesn't seem to have changed at all. Yes indeed. I almost cried myself. I love PJ he is just an amazing actor and in these past few weeks he has really shone brightly like the rising star that he is. But, I think I understand why Ste chose Brendan. A few years ago Ste was like a smaller more pitiful version of Brendan. He used to abuse Amy just like Brendan abused him (What a difference a few years makes). If Brendan truly has changed I think that he and Ste would get along fabulously. Seeing Ste and Brendan snog outside, in broad daylight with so many people around totally blows my mind. Brendan has come along way with accepting his sexuality.
