25th anniversary Retrospective on DREAMCAST

Regarding House of the Dead 2, the official SEGA light gun is blocked from working. However, 3rd party light guns such as the Mad Catz light gun will work with it. Alternatively, the PAL (Europe) or Japanese regional versions of the game do work with the official light gun. Furthermore, there are patched versions of the North American regional version online that will work with the official light gun.

Bro, I remember Dreamcast at Sears and JC Penny's, especially after they were discontinued, seeing them priced at 30 freakin dollars! This console had every reason to become successful. From the graphical quality during the time, the awesome game line up, the price, and web connectivity!! Ah, man, take me back!

Great video. To this day, Dreamcast is the only console I’ve ever purchased at launch. I was 11 and my parents took me to Best Buy 9/9/99 after school and bought it for me. I remember a huge stack of Dreamcasts in the middle of the store and people were grabbing them like crazy. One of the absolute greatest systems.

I'm happy that you're a fan of Seaman. I bought my copy when I was 13 at an EBGames, it was priced at $12.99. I think it was my first T rated game that I was allowed to buy. I played it and my Seaman didn't survive on my first playthrough. Felt kind of bad about it so I tried again and this time he fully matured. I was amazed by the fact that I'm having a real conversation with a fish. Definitely a unique experience that you can't get anymore.

Wow you've got a huge collection Alex! I enjoyed your Seaman story haha, always was curious about that game since I saw AVGN do a video about it. I've still never laid my hands on a Dreamcast controller. I never knew anyone that actually had the system and it was one that just passed me by kinda like the Turbografx 16.

Great hearing about your Dreamcast nostalgia Alex! DC was the console that got me back into video games after a hiatus. Shenmue 2 might be passed more like a regular game but I might slightly prefer 1. Omikron is alo similar to Shenmue but with more action; combines fighting with FPS and open world investigation. Berserk is badass game! Hack n Slash heavy on the story. From what I hear og REs are best played on DC but I still prefer N64 RE2.
