Isnt Tharavadu term used only for Nair homes( the common residence for the matrilineal joint family under the Marumakkathayam system)? It's almost like saying traditional Christian Illam. As far as I know there is no matrilineal system among any sects of Christians in Kerala. Although there are some North malabar Muslim families who used to follow matriarchy and they termed their homes as Muslim Thravadu. It's a beautiful home nevertheless ,thank you for sharing

Nazrani/Suriyani Christians in Kottayam/Idukki and Ernakulam were Tamilian farmers who migrated to Kerala in 1300's. All you need is a DNA test to prove this. 'Nazrani' Christians lived a Hindu way of life. Over time, some of the 'Nazrani' Christians switched their professions to various traders of agricultural produce and money lending.

Agree with you. The ancestors of most of the so called 'aristocratic nasrani families' in Kerala were Tamil speaking Vellalar (Pillai, Chetty etc.) converts to syriac Christianity. It's likely that these people were originally traders and farmers.

True - but the cross is a resemblance of a Savior who died for your sins so that when you truly believe you will get salvation. Having the body of Christ represented on the cross is wrong. Because he has risen. Means he conquered death. And Peace comes from within you when you have Christ within you. Cross was then used to resemble the Christian faith however, Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life; and who so ever believes in me shall have an eternal life. Note the words "who so ever" it means Jesus Christ came for all humans not just for Jews or Christians... but, for all. Be blessed!
