Gonna have to make alot more to afford a driver with the already high expenses your already incurring with renting, insurance, fuel and hotels. Would love to see a thorough breakdown with proof of ratecons and profit/loss statements after a little while with a driver. Especially OTR your fuel is already so high. Good thing though is you don't have to worry about maintenance. But, I would highly suggest a full year being the owner and driver so you can get a solid amount of time In and grow a good solid broker list and not try to grow too quickly. Especially right now with fuel being high and brokers trying to give out these loads cheap as hell. No disrespect in this comment at all, just saying from experience you are going to have some amazing weeks and some slower weeks so keeping a lower overhead will be very important. Especially once you all get your own truck you gotta have money saved back for emergencies, being OTR and putting more miles on your own truck you'll be in the shop eventually for something.

I been paying myself this whole time as if I was a driver …. And my driver is my brother who is also going to be getting a truck … we a plan to open up a dispatcher side to the company and some other things to the company to help with the overhead … me getting out the truck allows me to focus more on the business side and structure to the company along with giving me time to go door to door and find local routes we have a plan

@@SavageExpert yep a week we figure out that the rental wasn’t going to work it was a quick start up but wasn’t ever going to be long term cause we in it for the long haul …. You could literally pay more than half your truck off with one year of renting ….. yeah …… we had to change are plan ….lol

It’s more to the business besides driving …. Driving is just 25 percent of the work …..the real work is the numbers and putting together loads that’s really the main focus most people have dispatch we don’t it’s all in house I didn’t get in this to drive I got in this to run a company and grow my fleet … have you ever watch tow piglet he is the main KZbinr I watch and he makes 2 million on hotshots I haven’t seen a box truck company do those numbers because everyone is focus on driving and. It running the company and growing ……. We have a goal to touch a million not one truck 200k a year we already make those numbers with a regular job
