Please note that these traps are not bulletproof traps. You perform these moves off of instinct. It’s always a game of chess. You understand your opponents rhythm or you deceptively place them into a rhythm or you stay defensively aware understanding that the same can happen back to you so be ready to evade their counter. It’s a complex sport boxing. Never look at any move here like it’s full proof. You need to pick your moments and have a decent level of ring IQ and ability. A lot of the time you won’t pull these traps and tricks off unless... A. You’ve dictated the rhythm, distance & pace of the fight B. You are defensibility aware & responsible C. You have a great understanding of timing D. You have good ring craft and boxing IQ You also have a good chance of performing these traps and tricks when A. Your opponent is slowing down B. Your opponent lacks ability It’s important to remember that you’re opponent might be doing the same thing to you so defensive responsibility is key. Always have a proactive defense meaning finish every attack or attempt at attack with a defense. The perfect example of a question I get for this tutorial. ‘Trap number 2: what if you parry the jab and the opponent does number 1?’ My response is this is boxing, find a way♟🧐

Risky shoulder rolling a jab. I tried that and got into by a following right hand. You could do a video on pressure fighting, positioning and cutting off the ring. Ring generalship is an art form in itself
@McLeodScott3 жыл бұрын
Yeah agreed. Another guy commented about the shoulder roll against an ortho jab a month ago. Seen it straight away. We done this one to just demonstrate the trap but we have a Philly shell video which goes into more detail. We also have a ring generalship video too. Check it out in our previous videos.

This is dope, especially if youre a quick handed, in and out scoring type of boxer. To actually land these and be effective, you had better be PRACTICING a lot, because your opponent isn't going to sit back and just let you work your game plan like the partner in the video. In fact a lot of these leave you open for counter punches (I mean the other person has a plan too), but definitely excellent practice to work on different opportunities that you may see open up during the course of a match or spar! Thanks for the tutorial!
@McLeodScott3 жыл бұрын
Yeah 100% the other boxer isn’t just going to stand there but we do have demonstrate the drill. All the moves are achievable but all depends on your ring IQ, athleticism, the opponent in front of you etc. We are just laying out a template in this video. Thanks for the comment 👍🏼
