I really enjoy the Abloy padlocks. I still have to learn how to pick them but having them in my collection makes me happy.
Enjoy the gutting.

Thanks so much for this video. I dismantled a 350 to clean rust and was struggling to put the keyway back together. This helped so much 👍

Awesome, thanks for the video. I have the exact same with a Sentry & Protec 1, plus some 330's Classic and a 362CS Sentry. I am too scared to open them so cheers for the video.🍺👍🏽😎

Hehe, I have one of all Abloy PL series padlocks in Protec2, so expensive but they're so satisfying to operate. I employ them on our farm. The Protec2 cores are tiny and remove as one piece without them falling apart, very good stuff.

342 is a Protec1 the 350 is a Sentry. Nice video with some great camera work!👍💨🙂

PL342 has a Protec2 version.

@@ericshutter5305 No it does not. The Protec2 has a ball bearing at the end of the key. This padlock shown does not have that new feature. It is a regular Protec.

Trekmaster30 330s are pretty popular with trucking companies because they're so we'll built. Though the 340s would be better with the hardened lock body.

vde, some of the abloy 342's come without "boron" sign on the shackles, does that mean the shackles are NOT boron?
@goulashigabor
@goulashigabor 7 ай бұрын

Is this too big for a typical locker? would the shackle fit? i mean your typical locker at work for example?
@MultiVde
@MultiVde 7 жыл бұрын
These two models are quite big (the 342 has 0.400in or 10mm thick shackle), and unless the holes of the padlock holder are large enough then it would probably not fit. There are however smaller models of the Abolys like the 330 which would fit and still would provide very good security. There is also the suitcase lock of abloy (pun intended as it is still relatively large) the 321 model, but for a locker I think it might be too small if you look for higher security.
@FoodOnCrack
@FoodOnCrack 6 жыл бұрын
the 321 is only brass, not steel unfortunately
@adrn25m
@adrn25m 6 жыл бұрын
FoodOnCrack the abloy 330 is brass bodied also and chrome plated over the top.
@Nitrxgen
@Nitrxgen 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, the 330 has a brass body but let's be serious, this guy is asking about securing a work locker. You really think someone's going to cut through 48mm of brass for a work locker? Any attacker will just pull the hinges off the door if they're that determined so don't get hung up on a brass vs. steel body.

I took mine apart and the discs fell and they got mixed up, is there any chance I could put it back? Or throw it away?
@MultiVde

You ca totally repair it. dont bin it please would be a waste. It will take some time to figure it out but it can be saved. If you want you can look for a local lockpicking club around where you live and they can assist. If you also want send it my way and i can try and fix it and send it back to you. Key is avaiable I assume?
