LMP1 is the most longgest pits stop time. And LMP1 is the most high class race at all (2nd is f1). It's took 40seconds to 1min. The pits stop. LMP1 is the lemans race which is 24hrs race non-stop only during in pit's stop. Have a 3 drivers in one car. Every driver swap every 3hrs. The main race is in germany . The track is about 15km long. It's took 3:15-4mins every lap. LMP1 car Can run 400km/hr. The break needed 1.2second (300-0km) and accelatation (0-300km) in 1.5seconds. ( no replacing car )

Well most people would see F1 as highest class, me included. I doubt that many people even know the LMP1 category. The drivers don't have to swap every 3 hours, the can also swap every 1 or 2 hours. The "main race" isn't in Germany. The most important race are the 24h of Le Mans. I guess you mean the 24h of Nürburgring, that race doesn't feature LMP1 cars though. The 24h layout is 25,3 km long btw. I also haven't seen any LMP1 car crack the 400 km/h mark, they aren't even close actually.

I dont think they commonly have pit stops. I’ve only seen pit stops at one offroad race, and that’s at Knoxville Tennessee. That’s a one time deal though, and i dont even know if they still have pit stops

im a little new to racing. so my understanding of pitstops only go as far as... refuel, tire change, frame/chassis repairs or driver change(depending on the race/class). so the race/class that has the crew swapping tires ONE at a time. is this a way of introducing another level of strategy that the team has to factor in? i mean obviously its not efficient if two guys at the front left tire is waiting for the two guys at the front right tire or what ever other combination.

Pitstop combination depends on class regulation. Like in F1 everything goes at the same time. In other, they cant refuel when drivers change. :)

yes it is build in the car. It is a lift system that works with air pressure you can see it in LMP GTE/3/4 class and you can see it at 5:55 plugged in in the back of the corvette

Nah they have built in air jacks, you will see them hook an airline to the back of the car before they "float" then they take the line off and the car drops as fast as possible without damaging the car

Why is the pitlane in America different compared to the rest of the world? Why is the garage not in the pitlane? What if you just want to fix a broken suspension then send the car back out again? It's obviously unsafe and there's not much room to do it in the pitlane so you have to take the car away first so how do you even do that when the garage is not where the pit bay is?

Charles Nienhouse all those are sprint races, so they don’t need refuelling and the regulations don’t allow you to do so. Others are endurance, ranging from 6h, 12h and 24h, so they certainly require.
