Awesome video Gunny it was great to see a longer video of this car being painted I watched the other video on your main channel so this one just finished it off a treat, maybe you could do this more often having a shorter video on your main channel then uploading the full paint job on here with you shooting the breeze, I do realise it's a lot of work editing and uploading these vids so please only do it if you can mate as family comes first👌 Totally agree that the DV1 is one of the best basecoat guns out there, if not the best it's about all I use for base these days. I saw a 300SL Gullwing that was painted in a similar color. I don't believe it was a color available in the 50's but it sure made that car pop! (besides it being a fantastic car to start with!) I think the most important thing I've learned from you is "make it up as you go". Instead of getting locked in to one gun or pressure, fluid, fan setting etc. just look at how it's going and adjust from there. The one thing as a hobbyist is to come up with a factor to estimate how much clear coat will be required since it can't be saved if you have extra. Thanks for everything you've taught me Gunny! I painted a 1973? version back in the late 1990"s. Aluminum trunk, hood and doors IIR. It was a silver car. Interesting car.

Wow what is the flash time on that clear? You basically did back to back coats. Is it production clear or a hybrid with glamour?

Was in Perth in hit temps, no need for flash yeah hybrid clear, Standox standard clear
