I could go for a chocolate biscuit, and I haven't been working locks. What a perfect way to end the day, a calming cruise to Braunston. Glad you had help with the locks, makes things much simpler. I've often thought I'd enjoy being a volunteer if I lived near the canal, they always seem a jolly bunch. And, yes, bye for now!

Amazing how the weather changed when you came out of the tunnel. The locks are nice and wide, well maintained, too. When you return, consider bringing some biscuits for the kind and helpful volunteers, you might even spend some time in The Boat Shop and show us around if you please. Recently I bought a rechargeable work lamp, that belongs to a series of power tools, all for the same type of batteries, so convenient! Happy travels, and thank you for showing this great canal.

Hi Umberto, I look after the volunteers very well, I always have biscuits with me and other sundries for those that render me assistance. In fact, I do say to the volunteers at Bottom Lock that I gave the other volunteers the biscuits. There is never really any time to stop at The Boat Shop, I wish there was, as I'd like to have a good look around. Tools like that are very useful, where the batteries inter change. Good morning Alan, your vlog makes a perfect start to a Sunday morning. I always hated tunnels, and we used to go through Braunston tunnel at around 6.00 am, when we would hopefully have an uninterrupted passage. It’s such a treat to be revisiting this with you, as this was the route we took on a very long trip we made in 2019...cheers..🍷🍷

Many thanks Michael. I did pass a boat called POPPY, and having checked, I can tell it's not the 'Boating Beyond' boat. Many boats have the same name, it's not an issue, as the Canal and River Trust are only interested in Registration numbers. Cheers

Hi Diane, thank you for your good wishes for Jasmine’s family. The maximum length of boat in a standard lock is 72ft or 21.95metres. The impression you have of size may come from the wide angle camera lens, which can give the wrong impression. All the best, take care 💙

Hi Rob. There is no public parking at Watford Locks. There is a verge by Venture Caravans on the A5 where you can park, walk back past Venture and a public footpath leads into the site by lock 2. That’s the only way I know. Cheers
