I have a G3c and just yesterday I bought the G3XL. Once I got home, I switched the G3c lower with the safety onto the XL's upper receiver, and it worked. So if you already have a GC3 with a safety, you can buy the G3XL and just switch the lower.

I have the Taurus G3, the Taurus G3C and I recently bought the G4X and for me the best Taurus is the G3C. 12 round, 15 or 17 round magazine with extender, back plate desing, I can buy the red dot sight t.o.r.o slide separately, different barel color, etc. and a reasonable price. I love it

Glad to hear your opinion on x4 vs 3c, I've been agonizing whether to get the 3c or spend a little more for the 4x. I like the single action only trigger on the 4x better but prefer an external safety when I let wife, friends, family come to the range and handle pistols.

I researched many and went into the store expecting to go with the Taurus G3XL or 4X. After holding them all, the G3C with the stock mag baseplate made it fit my hand better than any other. IMHO this entire series is equally as good. Barrel length difference in this case is insignificant imho, so pick your mag capacity preference and best hand fit and you'll be happy. P.S. Only problem I've had is I accidentally bought some steel case rounds and wanted to burn em up at the range but every single round prevented the slide from going all the way home. Anyone else unable to use steel rounds at all?

@@SirWulfrick 👍 The same thing happened to me, I went to buy ammunition and they only had 124gr steel ammunition and I bought it and they use it in the range and so far I have not had any problems, I have heard that there are people who have had problems with steel ammunition in different handguns.

My Taurus go to channel. I own the G2C, G3 and G3c along with other 9mils. The G3c to me has the perfect grip to me. A full size slide with that G3c grip, gotta be perfection. Btw, I like my G3 and G3c better then my Glock 19 and 26.

Years ago I had a Taurus revolver .44 caliber I'll admit I didn't shoot it a lot but it was a good revolver. I was at a swap meet and a vendor packed a G3 I checked it out. When he told me the price I got my wife one two rounds she wanted her .22 mag back so I kept it and love it. She got the smaller version and loves it. Have any of yall shot or own a kel-tec sub 2000 a carbine same caliber as your handgun makes sense I've heard its best thing kel-tec ever built.

I have the g2c g3c and the g3. I like the g4 but not enough to buy one. But I definitely got to try this one out. My edc is the g3 and my back up is the g3c I own several 9 mm guns in different brands but none are anymore reliable then my Taurus have been. My g3 has over 5500 rounds through it never any malfunctions. Shooting all types of different ammo.

I have been a Taurus fan since the 90s. my guns are all over 30 years old and work fine. I used to insist on an external safety, but every time I took my gun out of the holster the safety was off. so now I don't care about ex. safety's. I plan on getting a new Taurus soon , I like 40 cal. but 9mm has come a long way as an effective round. I enjoy all your videos , honest and down to earth.

Bought a G2C Millenium over Christmas, and the G3 was about $50 more. But it comes with 3 magazines? What is the difference between the G3XL and the G3C-xl? You can pick up a Taurus G2C for about $190 at Rural King.

I did something similar in 2009. I'd bought a XD40 Service, and sent it to Springer Precision for a "Grip-Chop" to allow me to use Sub-Compact magazines and it worked Great. I actually prefer a longer barrel and a shorter Grip. So I ordered a G3XL a few days ago, from Buds for 268. I can hardly wait to get it. I'm glad it has a Life-Time warranty, I just wish my 856 Defender also came with the life time warranty instead of a One Year Warranty!

I carry a Sig p320 X compact (3.9 inch barrel and 17 round mag) when I leave the house, but after polishing the G3’s ramp and testing it out on the range I do carry the G3 around my property and when I have to do work where The gun might take some punishment on the holster like construction etc. I am not too excited about the G3XL, I am actually more excited about GX4 which seems to me like a step up in terms of build quality. I know packaging is not everything, but given that Canik is going the extra mile in theirs, I would love for Taurus to go hard case with extra goodies, instead of the cardboard approach. It does make a difference in making costumers feel like they got a premium product, thought I know people think of Taurus as a “budget” brand. My G3 was $400 last year, so I would definitely want more from them. My Sig had a hard case and 3 17 round Mags, the G3 had a 15 and a 17 rd mag, perhaps another mag would have helped a bit. Still, I am glad Taurus continues to produce new variants of successful models.

I really like the GX4, and I agree that its build quality is excellent. If you bought a new GX4 you know it comes in a hard case. I don't fully agree with the rest of what you said. Your sig prob cost twice what this will. You bought your G3 during panic pricing (which we had for almost 2 years). Not blaming you, I bought guns then too. The G3 is currently 300 or less. This G3xl will come to market at less than 300. The G3x that came out a month ago is already down to 269. I have a ton of hard cases that I dont use. I usually bring my pistols to the range in bags that hold multiple. I know some people store their pistols in the box or case, but some don't. This pistol is also cheaper than any current Canik offering. They arent giving you the case for free. It is built into the price. You opinion is fine. I'm just giving the other side to some of your points.

@@2aEdu I agree, I no longer consider Canik “budget”, but I was impressed by the GX4 in its build and barrel finish. I held it at the gun shop, when I went to buy the Sig. So I am glad that Taurus is going in that direction, I would definitely buy a full size GX4 variant. That’s said, I know that the case factors into the price, I do take the Sig case into the range though (lol), The GX4 does have a hard case, but I would have loved for the G3 to have the same. I remember buying a small metal case with it ( I have small children), so that was about 60 dollars on top of the $400 price tag. With normal plastic casing I just put a small lock in and I keep them there when I am not carrying or sleeping (as I do keep a gun at the night drawer beside the bed when I go to sleep just in case some breaks into the house). I am just weird, I guess lol. I do appreciate good packaging and Canik seems to go the extra mile in that regard, even better than Sig and Glock for a lower price.

I have noticed that in a few (five or six?) videos out of the many G2/3 shooting videos, the shooters, even when a confirmed tap/rank/bang-er, always seem to pull the trigger again. And all but once it went off on the second pull. I think it is instinctive. it is quicker to pull again than TRP...and it is still quicker if it works. At least with the G's we CAN, and it is what a lesser trained person will do. A lot of the more trained ones too!

Like I said in this video. It is fine with me it has the restrike option. I use the tap rack method though. You seem to disagree with several of my opinions (your other comment as well), but you arent saying anything to disprove what said in this video. I said use which ever method you want. Other people's videos..... I have no idea? Most striker fired guns that people carry dont have restrike that is why I train to tap rack.

@@2aEdu I agree with you on most of it. But I think most people, even trained in TRB will try to pull again without thinking about it when not in most training situations. So I have seen in those few videos where there was a misfire on a G. I am not saying TRB is wrong. This is mostly a difference of opinion. I just think making a short, light trigger without some kind of a manual safety is a bad idea...like a Glock with a aftermarket 3lb trigger. Short AND light. Booger hook off the bang switch is fine. Until someone makes a mistake. Which they will. None of us are perfect and ALL of use get complacent at some point. Fortunately most of the time it turns out okay. Actually, watching the gun handling in some videos makes me surprised there aren't more bad outcomes than we hear about. Of course, if I screwed up like that on video I probably would release that one... Keep up the good videos! Manual safety or not...{!-{>
