Yeah, it is true that people can't usually recognize their own best photos/self perception skews our own...perception of ourselves. I wasn't sure how accurate that statement really was until watching this video. Because the ones that look the most like him he kept saying, "well, that doesn't really look too much like me..." like...yeah they do. All the C-tier ones (or at least the first 3) look almost exactly like him. And he couldn't see it. Pretty surprising. I want to try this for myself but I don't have millions of people to look for photos that look like me. Although I do hear a lot from people "I saw someone that looks exactly like you and I went up to them and it wasn't you."

I have never told him this, but my high school friend's boyfriend looks so much like Danny Gonzalez that it's weird. He's grown some facial hair now so the resemblence isn't as strong, but when we were 17-18 and he still had shorter hair and no facial hair, he looked exactly like Danny. Like the hair, the nose, everything about how his face is laid out, it was almost uncanny. I never had the guts to tell him though.

I think it's because we don't see ourselves in every single angle possible in various situations while looking another way. So we don't really know what we really look like while imagining our own face. The image becomes different because of our own perception and a bit of how we want to look like.
