@johncgibson47203 жыл бұрын
I have not watched the video. But I know this is a challenging and troublesome setup. I once tried a 250 gram drone with disc loading equivalent of 6.5 inch, which FPV'ed for 35 minute with full HD video. The tuning has a very narrow range of allowance for any diving of any considerable speed. Just 10% increase of tune will oscillate and shake the drone itself apart. And just 10% decrease of tune will make it a DJI level flyer. I will not be surprised if this ummagawd project will run for a few years, like a real R&D project, to conclude.

I forgot to mention how much I enjoy all of your work. Your videos are funny and informative and I usually watch from beginning to end. You obviously put a lot of time into what you do. Thank you. Hey, I wanted to mention something else. I apologize for using your video to bring this up, but your CS folks sort of ignored the issue. I put your Hex motors on a quad and got a few flights in and had a very minor crash where the quad just fell onto the ground from about 50 ft altitude. Since your stuff is so good I never checked the motors, but assumed that 2 of the motors not spinning was the 32 -bit KISS ESC's. Then I finally checked the motors after putting in a Fettec 4-in-1 45A and they still did not spin at all. On those 2 motors the wires broke right where they start to go up into the windings. I was really surprised. For 2 of those motors to both have broken wires at the same time seemed unlikely to me. I contacted your CS by email and I offered to send the motors to you to look at, at my expense. I was not asking for a refund or replacement. They said there was nowhere to send them so I was out of luck. Would you be willing to look at them? I didn't know how else to get in touch with you, so please accept my apology.

Will you offer a kit version with all the components included, but let us do all the assembly work? I'm a mentor for a robotics team, and this option would be ideal for us. Our beginner students are starting with building cinewoops. (Tyro 79 guts in a Reptile Cloud frame) We fly these indoors, so no FAA issues. My advanced students could do this build as their second year project if you offered all the parts as a bundle. Then we could fly outdoors, below the radar, so to speak. Actually, the vibration modes of a drone leg are not much different from a wind mill power station. There are two ways to go: 1. fully stiff, meaning very high frequency rates but also higher weight and 2. flexible but within vibrational stress restraints. I wonder why DIY drones are made out of flat material, whereas in particular the main forces on the arms are perpendicular to that flat plane, where the flat plane is least strong and stiff. I would select tubular or oval arms, which even elegantly allow for routing the motor and other wires. Preferably the arms go uninterrupted diagonally from motor to motor so connection to the centerframe do not have to take up the stress. Just some ideas from my side.

I think it’s more about the balance. The P has to be in a certain range for D to do its thing. And the same with D. For instance, if you pull the slider down, it brings D down (and keeps P the same). Well if D is too low, you’ll have issues. So I keep D where i know it’s happy (in this case default), and then push P. And then both. Great video, lots of detail. Yeah, if you came out with a KISS version, I'd probably buy it even with the props in view. I'm not a BetaFlight guy though, all those settings to have to deal with and BL Heli on top?? Yeah Waaay to much for me to deal with after I break it..... I will break it...

My 4s build is kiss! I’m using the kissCC AIO. And I made sure it would fit that board. Kiss 2Fiddy is absolutely doable 😉

@@ummagawdFPV Really? I thought that it was Beta Flight? Is the one in the video 3s or 4S? I do like your build, and want to get one when you release it. So there's no way to run a Mobius or insta 360 something and still keep it under the 250 mark?
@ummagawdFPV3 жыл бұрын
I have a 4s build on kiss AIO and this 6s on iFlight. Fettec makes an AIO too! If you build a 4s on analog, you can put an Insta360 go and make 250g if you’re careful about your build

Man I am "DEFINITELY" ordering this FOR SURE!!!!!! I am just trying to decide on my gogs and radio just yet but this is a must have!!!!! I'm not registering SHIT!!!!! excuse my lingo but it the truth lol and I have been wanting a 5 inch quad but trying to find a sub 250 one is like finding a leprechaun riding a unicorn....so I do have an issue with getting goggles if ANYONE CAN HELP OUT I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT !!!!! 🙏....OK I don't wear glasses but my left eye is alot stronger than my right so when just looking through my right eye it's blurry left eye is 20 20 soooo...with that being said would binocular style goggles make me feel like I'm going crossed eyed???? Or should I find a good "single screen" pair? Sorry if I can't explain it in better terms lol but I really can't say how it might look if one eye is better than the other and I know most have adjustable lenses as well as some being compatible with prescription lenses....but like I said i don't wear glasses....I know I know....I should've listened to the optometrist when I was younger....but I didn't! Lol so I did want the new dji v2 gogs but from what I have heard and researched....heard from the goat himself by the way 😉 that the new v2s are really not adjustable for viewing also that they are no different really from v1 other than v2 was made for something dji has up their sleeve for the future....so what that being said sorry for the book but none of the hobby shops will let you try on a pair of gogs nowadays with covid and I would hate to order a pair and put them on and feel like I'm crossed eyed....so any feedback would be really appreciated guy👍 and gals👍✌.....I couldn't wait for this 2 fiddy!!!!!!!!!!!!🥰

Not sure how to advise you on the goggles as I don’t wear corrective lens. But DJI goggles are quite roomy in that regard. If you opt for analog, FATSHARK sells diopters

I’m not sure I understand your phrase “walk of shame.” If you’re referring to the act of collecting your setup after crashing then I prefer to call it the “stride of pride.” Most of the time I crash is because I’m pushing my limits (it’s not difficult to do that as a beginner) which means I’m developing. In my mind, crashing is a good thing (as long as I minimise repeat mistakes) and so I hope to continue to “stride with pride.”

Building it with analog is super easy as you basically have the space of a vista. And you’d save some weight too that can go towards more battery or a naked gopro

stop using buttered and not responsive betaflight, try emuflight with feathered pids at 0... D term in that case pushing drone with P, and inverse d term when gyro gets close to the setpoint. Drone feels in that case like "steel"

@@ummagawdFPV the V2 coming out should address most issues. Of course that means purchasing ANOTHER pair of DJI goggles. Hopefully the competition is paying attention and are able to release a strong competitor for digital.

I dont get it.. Filters manipulate things based off of pids and what is read from gyros.. WHY IN THE HELL does everyone tune filters first using stock wet noodle pids? Your putting the lipstick n shoes on the pig before the lingerie. Start at the basic before dressing your pig. Set rates, turn off all filters, THEN tune pids for best performance. THEN you can fine tweak imperfections out with filters. I dont even in most cases get to the filters when I tune. I tune pids The hardest part about this process AND the failings of black box fine tuning is discerning what is bad behavior of the quad vs bad habits of the pilot. Most people chase pid tunes (myself included) when they start until they learn to recognize the prop wash or bounce back they just got was their own fault vs a tuning issue once you learn that PID tuning gets MUCH easier and makes more sense.
@ummagawdFPV3 жыл бұрын
Ummmm... filters don’t manipulate things off PIDs. Filters happen BEFORE the PID loop happens. It keeps the unwanted noise from hitting the gyro (which the PID loop responds to).
@borgonianevolution3 жыл бұрын
@@ummagawdFPV Im not debating you as I learned most of what I know and do from the OG Atlanta crew and have 6 years building and flying under my belt now. If pids are tuned before all the fiddling (like you guys all did on KISS back in the early days and got great flying quads) Doesnt that eliminate the need for most of the filtering.. Kinda like the chicken or the egg debate huh.. I think people should still learn pids before they start relying on filtering as far to many new pilots never learn what a locked in quad is like to fly because they never get past the wet noodle stage with the filter thing. Some builds with really crappy components are just unsafe to be put in the air they are so out of control and wishy washy using just filters and stock pids.
