"Canada has a small population living in a large land area (close to 9 million square kilometres), leading to a low population density compared with other countries. For example, Canada had 3.9 people per square kilometre in 2016, compared with 35.3 people per square kilometre in the United States. The Canadian population, however, is highly concentrated geographically. What does it take to move to Winnipeg? For my great-grandparents, it was the start of the Bolshevik revolution, people on horseback, riding through the streets of Odessa, stabbing and shooting people. As German expats, they were no longer welcome in Odessa. My great-grandmother said they should have moved to Siberia as it would have been a shorter trip for the same result! Family has been in SE Michigan for several decades. A few years ago, I'm talking with a couple co-workers and we discovered that our great-grandparents had all settled in Beausejour, about 60km NE of Winnipeg. Small world, eh? I still have relatives in Winnipeg, Calgary and some I haven't met (yet) in Kelowna. Saw Canada this past Sunday - had to look south to see it!

@@prettydark I'd like that - a long trip through Canada, retracing a trip my parents took my sister and I on; seeing relatives perhaps one more/last/first time; see Beausejour - I think the building the butcher shop was in is still there. There's a town history book in the library there, with a write-up on my great-grandparents. My co-worker, visiting her family one Christmas, brought me copies of the relevant pages. Would be nice to see, hold the actual book.

Thank you. I live in the Caribbean and people often think "oh that's paradise!" But I live here, it's not a week at a resort. Year-round heat while you're trying to live your daily life, work, groceries, etc. I can't stand it. It's basically Groundhog Day but in the heat. I grew up in South America, so I miss the season soooo much.

HI Guys !! Want to say that just because you live in a country(in this case The Philipines) with pleasant weather all year round does not guarantee you a good quality of life. In Canada we have 4 seasons and get very hot weather in the summer time especially southern Ontario. .Canada is well known for its good quality of life and universally well respected.......

Fair enough, I use to chat to a girl in who lived in the Philippines, Cebu I believe which boasted beautiful countryside and beaches. Four large Malls which sounds idyllic right, but apparently no it had black outs with inconstant electricity. Flooding which wasn't really well addressed by the government, and other problems some hers and some her environment. So yes while paradise can seem idyllic, all glitters ain't gold.

Salut! Great episode. I had seen his routine before and laughed all the way through. I'm happy you also enjoyed it. I went to high school just south of the Manitoba-Saskatchewan line so I appreciate his comments about Winterpeg but our coldest night during the two mild winters we were there was only -35 F with a 50 knot wind. Balmy compared to Estevan and Moose Jaw. In the same way that some people may think you're Americans when you visit south of the line some people think I'm Canadian because I have a rough knowledge of the metric system and I speak un peu de français. Très peu. Merci de nouveau. Thanks.

Alaska interior is basically like the Canadian NW territory or the Yukon. Only the big towns have road access to the southern part of Alaska. You have to fly in and fly out. Spent 1 year at Galena AB about half way between Nome and Fairbanks. No access other than by plane. A lot of places don't have road access.
