Sorry this video is in 25 FPS which makes it a bit choppy and not as smooth as it really is..
I know its been forever since I've uploaded, but we all know its a tough year to say the least!
I've still been playing around with many different things and the 1S 3" stuff has been my favorite! but today I want to show you my experiments with whoops since it is now whoop season.
I know HD fpv is the new news now but i'm not quite there yet so this is still analog for now since the HD options are quite heavy now unfortunately..
I was hoping to build an upside down pusher configuration but i ended up with this for now.
This is not your typical indoor flying whoop, I'd recommend a 1S whoop for that. My aim was to make a lightweight HD capable cinewhoop that's stable enough to catch some amazing shots without the need to stabilize. Very difficult thing as whoops are very affected by the wind. these flights I show here are in little to no wind.
I like the runcam split 3 lite because u can change the shutter speed and the fpv feed is pretty amazing! also running in pal you can set the recordings to 50fps that matches and youll have an even better fpv feed with no stuttering. the plastic lens lets it down tho and i'm still thinking to mod the lens somehow even tho the threads are something like m10 and not standard.. but the plastic lens is light and able to fit the ND filters.
Motors are 1103 8000kv
flight controller is the old betafpv 2s board
vtx is some kind of eachine red devil vtx 200mw
and reciever is xm plus
this is all likely to change. the betaflight settings i will have to show in a future update if there's interest. Thanks for watching :)

Any plans to get out of the duct-style game and into the Toothpick class with HD? I'm using similar components but on a BabyTooth style quad and the flight time is usually higher and there is less washout.
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX 3 жыл бұрын
Actually the duct-style game is new to me haha! I've been doing exactly the toothpick class with HD for a long time now! Those are steady builds that i constantly fly and I agree it's much better in every way. But the whoops have their own strengths, but more weaknesses haha

what nd filter do you use? nd16 or nd8 and how many set your shuter speed ?
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX 2 жыл бұрын
Don’t remember what ND filter I had here, I believe it was 8. but generally I’ll have the 16 and 8. 16 is for when it’s super bright and sunny. As a general rule u want your shutter speed to be double the frame rate. It’s usually 60 frames per second so best shutter speed for motion blur is 120

Hi, is there a setting with which you have less latency with Split3? I have tried the Baby turtle in the past, I didn't like it in fpv video, while I suspect the Loris 4K may have more latency. What do you think about it? Thanks and good flights
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Unfortunately there is no setting to make the latency less :( I really wish so! Baby turtle wasn’t good for me either and for sure the loris 4k will have more latency! I’ve tried it and it wasn’t enjoyable. This split 3 has been the best out of all the HD split options
@teobass82
@teobass82 3 жыл бұрын
@@DanielSingerX thanks, by settings I mean a resolution or fps where perhaps it is better. I have read for example on the Loris from 4K to 1080 is very different as latency
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX 3 жыл бұрын
@@teobass82 oh yes that’s what I thought! I tried all the settings and it all felt the same. 1080 60p is the best setting, 30p looks really choppy and 720 you loose a lot of FOV :( and I didn’t find latency to be any better. With a 4k camera it has the ability to still look good in 1080. Anything lower than that isn’t worth it with the runcam
@teobass82
@teobass82 3 жыл бұрын
@@DanielSingerX that's right, I think 1080p is already a good compromise especially in small spaces. Then there is 1 gram less than the Loris

what do you use for the color correction? Looks great
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I can’t remember exactly what I used in this particular video but I believe it was premiere pro at the time. I believe I did the lens correction in premiere pro and the colour correcting in Luma fusion which is an iPad app I just started testing out back then. I believe the only filter I used was the UNSHARP and maybe boosting the colour a bit

Hello, Sorry i am fresh in this hobby. So there is only 1 camera that give You this 1080p view and FPV on the screen in the same time, that is right? To run it is it not necessary to use digital goggles like DJI?
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry just seeing this. So yes you are correct that a setup like this doesn't need DJI Or anything digital. its for the regular analog goggles, but has the ability to record on the onboard SD card in 1080p view, much better than what u see in the goggles😎

Hi ! On my first flight, I broke the glass lens... The camera still working or recording, but now the image is blurry. Do you know how can I fix it or if I can buy a new lens ? Thanks !
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX 3 жыл бұрын
Is it the runcam split 3 lite you have? You can get a new lens for sure! But if it’s a lens for this camera I don’t think I’ve seen replacement lenses anywhere. The hard part is focusing it! If the image is blurry you have to screw the lens in and out while it’s powered on until it becomes clear in the goggles. It’s usually very precise and a small turn can make it out of focus so be careful with it!

@@DanielSingerX yes I have a run cam split 3 on a Mobula7 HD, tha'ts it ! During my first flights, the drone suddenly Fell, and it broke the camera.... Do you have any link for a Replacement lens ? Because I didn't find any 😅 Do you have Messenger or Instagram for me to show you what I have?
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX 3 жыл бұрын
@@shix2199 oh no that’s terrible!! I know exactly what it is that you have and unfortunately I haven’t seen a lens replacement for this camera. It uses a very proprietary lens that I couldn’t even use from another camera ☹️ I did end up hacking away at the lens housing until I could screw the sensor board into the back of an old runcam racer ‘the screw holes fit’ but that is a very difficult careful job. I’m going to see if by now they have a replacement lens or lens module and let you know but it seems at this point you’ll have to just get a whole new runcam split 3 lite :( also the lens is glued in so I imagine that’s why there’s no replacement lenses available. If you remove the glue u can screw it out though
@shix2199
@shix2199 3 жыл бұрын
@@DanielSingerX I removed the glue, and I ended up with three small plastic lenses. is the glass lens important for sharpness? it's quite frustrating because I have the camera that records audio and video, but it's blurry. I'm probably going to buy a new one !
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX 3 жыл бұрын
@@shix2199 oh yeah it needs all the different pieces of the lens for it to work! The outer lens is actually plastic but it seems like glass. I think all the smaller lenses inside are plastic also 🤔 I wish I had a better solution for you! I looked if they had replacement parts for this camera and still nothing :( looks like buying a whole new camera is only option and keep this one for parts
@DMarko22
@DMarko22 3 жыл бұрын
So in conclusion I need to put something like that together. Got plenty of parts left over from dead whoops. Btw. is there any perfect 1S toothpick build out there?
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX 3 жыл бұрын
If you got dead whoop parts I’d definitely recommend this! As for perfect 1s toothpick I guess that’s a bit subjective! I’ve stuck to bobs recommended 3” 1s setup and the only thing I’m having a hard time with is sticking with 1103 or the 1202.5 motors. They are both amazing! Of course anything you can do to reduce weight will make it more and more perfect. My next video should be about just this 😎

Hi Daniel! Great video! I have the exact same setup and I'm really interested in your PID and rate settings. Your results look very good! How did you mounted the cam since it doesn't come with screw holes? And by the way, I'm also interested in your video processing process. :D
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you 😎 I wish I could give you this pid tune but I’m not anywhere near it for the next 2 weeks unfortunately, I’ve already built something else out of it because I’ve got the shark byte system transferred into this build, but the tune is still the same! I used 48khz on the esc and the raised the P and D to compensate. My rates have a bit more expo in them than stock and end at about 1100. I’m going to have a look when I can and let you know! I’m travelling these days. Also the camera mount I literally just wedged the board at the back of the camera between the standard mount in the beta fpv canopy. Very non optimal but it held it pretty good! This camera lens scratches SUPER easy so I ended up modifying it to screw into a regular runcam case from an older camera that uses the m8 lenses. Added weight but made it way more functional. For processing I added lens correction in Adobe premiere that takes away the fish eye effect making it look more professional, and a slight saturation increase and that’s it :) and I just found where I saved my rates. They are : My rates>>> RC EXPO 0.43 SuperRates0.78 all Rcrate 1.22 all

Hi, what canopy are using on the 85? Btw, put the split lite on my 1s 3" with 1103 11000kv motors and xf, and it gives me 8mins of flight time with 520mah batteries. It also does decent acro. My only problem is the props are in view so looking for a nice alternative build for the split lite.
@DanielSingerX
@DanielSingerX 3 жыл бұрын
amazing! I literally just did this on my 1s 3” and it’s the same where I’m trying to figure out how to not get props in view. It’s very hard trying to think of a mount that will push the camera away from the props and not b too heavy.. I’m very astonished how stable it flys for 1s hd footage! My next video I want to make on this build. The canopy I used here was the regular beta fpv canopy for the eos2 type cameras. I literally just wedged the camera in there. I recently cut away the old lens housing from the lite and got it to fit into the housing of an eos where I could then screw it in. But that was a very fiddly operation.

@@DanielSingerX I have everything I need to make the same build except for the canopy. I'll check the ones I have if there will be props in view. You mention this is a work in progress, what are you planning to tweak? I've got 1103 8000kv and 1105 7500kv motors. Which would you think will perform better? 6 mins flight time on a 450mah is tough to beat though. You can even go 650 if you want cinematic stuff!
