If you are seeing this and have a problem getting to the switch due to the model ranger you have the transmission dip stick is probably in the way. Take the passenger tire off and remove the gaurd. Then have at it super easy.

My oil pressure sensor has been fine but the coolant temperature sensor has gon bad like 5 times on my explorer lol
@kamryn74963 жыл бұрын
Oh my oil pressure has been going up an down I hooked a gage to it it was making 67psi when cold an 44 psi when hot so lucky it was just the sensor an not a oil pressure issue

My 2000 ranger 3.0 oil gauge flickering while on idling on drive. And then is stalls our. Says check gauge. Could the stalling be off the oil pressure switch...
@wardduffield489 Жыл бұрын
most likely; it's a common syndrome
@kamryn7496 Жыл бұрын
No the oil pressure gauge is really just a dummy gauge it wouldn’t cause that issue I actually just unplugged mine an put a real glow shift oil pressure gauge in it instead

I have a 99 Mazda b2500 and mine is located on the back of the engine by the transmission and it’s pointing downward will oil spill out?
@chrisfrank84132 жыл бұрын
No, as long as the engine is shut off, all the oil willbe in the pan.
@nofortunatesonII5 ай бұрын
You may have a very tiny amount spill out since it is pointing downward, but it should be minimal. Make sure to use teflon tape or thread sealer on the new unit if it comes bare threads.

What did the gauge read with old senser

It would just flicker oil pressure at hot idle was 10 psi i put a glowshift oil pressure gadge in it I ended up replacing my engine oil pressure would drop a lot on the highway I put a brand new reman power torque Oreilly engine in it an now at hot idle oil pressure is 26psi an at 2500rpm on highway 44psi is lowst I seen the old engine at 2500rpm on highway would drop down to 29psi oil pressure witch isn’t good ford says you need 40psi at 2500 rpm I always run 5w30 motorcraft synthetic blend oil in this truck

I don't think there is THAT much clearance on my 94 3.0 manual tranny Ranger's engine and the firewall.
@kamryn7496 Жыл бұрын
Should be the same clearance

Why not just remove the passenger tire, lift the splash guard, and replace the sensor this way. I figured it was just common knowledge. Takes like 5 mins after removing the tire. Also,FYI, you can remove the oil filter the same way on the driver's side without removing the wheel. So much easier. I use a dipstick tube oil removal pump and drain my oil in like 4 mins without jacking the car up. No mess and removes more oil too.
@kamryn7496 Жыл бұрын
Going from the top of the engine is honestly so easy an less work then pulling out a jack jacking up the truck taking the tire off an removing the splash guard that would just make no sense to me doing that. It’s also not hard to take off the oil drain plug that’s the only way to get most of the old oil out if u just use a pump an pump out the old oil from the dipstick you won’t get all the oil out that just sounds pointless
