for anyone still watching this, I raised the bite point on the clutch and it is better...hard to get perfect though, so think my point still stands.

I installed Touratech short levers for my 790 2023. They are better than original ones, can use them with 2 fingers.

those were my front runners! I do like the general touratech products ...kind of no fuss, high quality, not too expensive line of things.

Did you have any reliability issues? How many kms have you put on the bike?
@nomading_in2 ай бұрын
10k so far. Had the starter mechanism changed under warranty for an intermittent switch issue, and my integrated USB charger failed, but everything else fine so far.

@@nomading_in thanks for the reply, did you check yours for camshaft wear or coolant leaks?
@nomading_in2 ай бұрын
@@TudorCizmas I don't see any evidence to suggest it's relevant for the 2023+ model, everything was raised and validated against the 2019-22 models.

How is the heat from the engine? I have an aprilia tuareg and the heat is my only real complaint. Can you feel a lot of heat coming off the engine while riding? Cheers.
@nomading_in7 ай бұрын
I occasionally noticed it a little in the summer, but don't remember it ever being distractingly hot. You do get a little heat in the seat and the leg as you'd expect. I do use a cheap gel seat which creates a little air gap, which basically removes it completely. I'd say the difference between the Tuareg is that it isn't really a high revving engine (unless you choose to ride it that way).

The best but expensive shorty levers are Wild at Heart. also consider Camel lever on the motor

Thanks for that! I've heard the Wild at Heart mentioned here and there, will give them a proper look for sure.

Hello m8 I’m thinking of purchasing this bike … Do u have any problems with it? Thanks
@nomading_in Жыл бұрын
I have been really happy with it, just coming up on 2k miles...no signs of anything that I'd consider a future risk (no spots of rust, wonky wiring etc). A few days ago (I'll maybe do a video on this later for transparency, once I know what it is) my engine warning light came on. Bike is functioning fine, probably one of the sensors thrown off, which the dealer will need to reset. Just an inconvenience rather than a major fault most likely, but very generally with a bike with so many features (which is great), you do have a higher chance of some niggles along the way, so having a dealer (who you like) nearby is something I'd probably consider. It's definitely not giving me any indication its going to have repeated faults over the next 3-5 years at least.

Surprised you couldn't just adjust the clutch lever's "bite point" on the cable. That's what I did. And did you just complain that your tank got scratched? Oh brother
@nomading_in15 күн бұрын
I did get the bite point sorted in the end, I suppose, but it did take a few attempts even with people who knew what they were doing. I think you should consider after sale value and crash proof for me does factor in cosmetic effect. All that said though, I did preface by saying I was looking extra hard for things I didn't like, as opposed to being annoyed or hating anything. Thanks for the comment!

there is one thing that bugs me on the display and thats the fact when u indicate it shows both arrows but thats just nitpicking
@nomading_in7 ай бұрын
ah yes, and I have encountered the 890 bug I've heard mention where the indicator "sticks" and it suddenly flashes a theatrical warning on the dash and you have to turn it off and on again to reset. Only happened once so far.

Which hand guards do you have installed? Thx

got the Acerbis x-factory. I liked how they looked! They're a little small but they do fit fine. Held up so far, but only really had 2 or 3 small impacts so far.

i dislike your camera angle - 🤣, i struggle to believe changing a lever to something shorter will cause any electrical gremlins, it is a cable activated clutch with zero electrical feedback so unless some very unique and weird wizardry is happening inside the cluster.....

hah me too, was definitely set too low for riding! I know, he seemed pretty convinced but I agree, not sure how it could...

Its a KTM not CF MOTO Bro .
@nomading_in7 ай бұрын
bit of a play of title, but technically it is a CF Moto produced bike for KTM, which I think is an important distinction if you're a considered buyer.
