This very true. People at large in these countries especially the lower middle class do not know much about watches. Short of Rolex and Omega, RADO is their go to watch. Every Pakistani who works in the Gulf eventually returns home with a gold plated shinny RADO. I believe soon RADO gig is going to be over.

I've owned a ton of watches and rado are some of the best. Superbly built, robust, comfortable to wear and very accurate. They have been world leaders in different materials throughout their entire exsistance. One of the biggest selling watch brands in Switzerland. Tells you everything you need to know. I own a captain cook in 42mm green and it's an amazing watch. Defo a keeper !!!

My father owned a Rado when I was a kid and my mother gave me a Rado Integral Jubile in 2003 for my birthday and is still running great and as beautiful as the day I got it.

Rado, Movado, Oris, and now Tudor seem to be the go-to wedding present for grooms in South-East Asia. I personally, prefer my speedy; of course. Rado was often seen as a brand of "Status", much like Rolex is for Saudi's.

I own that Oris Divers 65! It was my first expensive watch purchase. It's a great watch and just the right size for my wrist. That blue dial was the first edition when it launched a few years ago and not on sale any more. Can't recommend this watch enough 👏

Agreed. Their ambassadors are mainly Bollywood actors and it does trickle beyond India’s borders . They were the first to use ceramic within their watches and a lot more senior people in their 60’s and older I have seen wearing rado. I do believed they are positioned above longines within the swatch group but longines does seem to market itself better and comes of as a more prestigious brand within the swatch group.

I think Rado never made watches branded as Schlup & Co, only movements. They used the brand names Exacto and Rado for their watches and in 1928 decided to not only stomp Exacto but to rename the company to Rado.

I own several luxury brand watches such as Hublot, Rolex, GP, VC etc. My first watch was a Rado Sintra Chronograph. This Rado had the most wrist time than any other in my collection. After almost 20, almost every day on the wrist, the watch still looks like brand new with no signs of wear. I am very surprised that this awesome brand is not more popular in the USA.

Is there more than maybe $200 worth of parts and labor in each of those watches (excepting for diamonds, precious metals, etc.)? Rado & Tissot are a status symbol for many of the upper middle class here in India. Even many of the rich ones go for Rado rather than a Rolex. maybe they are thinking like what is the point in spending shit load of hard earned money just for a crown logo.

I have the Oris 65 and it is definitely a joy to have. Specwise it isn't anything special, but as a whole it's got a certain undeniable charm to it. I picked a new silicone strap blue and black variant for around $1100; at that price point it was a great buy.

If you're trying to spend less than a grand there's always Laco, Junghans, Doxa. All brands with heritage for either less than or around $1000.

Rado is very popular in Asia. My wife has a high tech ceramic one, including the bracelet. She has used it for more than 10 years, and, no scratches. It still looks like a new watch. That rado is a surprise. I will go and check it out. Super cool.

The longines hydroconquest 2018 should being in this list. Brand with a big history, very good watch, and a very good price, 1400€. In my opinion is very difficult beat this watch in this price range, and almost impossivel do better without loss money.

Rado is considered luxury in some countries, it may not be as high as Rolex, but certainly ain't that behind. When we talk about Oris, it isn't that we'll know. Yes, its definitely better than Rado interns of history and mechanical watch making. Oris should be more popular just because it's one of the very few watch brands which still stands solo, and has not been eaten by a bigger company. Oris has my respect, I bought the diver 65 and I wear it everyday. Although it's kinda expensive for me, like ₹1,50,000 ($2400 approx.) but still. This watch has a sole. When ever it stops or lags behind with the time. I am more than happy to wound it everyday. It's the personal time that I spend with my watch. And I love it.

Nice review. I have the Captain Cook with Blue face and Blue strap. Just bought a Black face Rado with Black and Silver metal band. Not cheap at $3500.00 Australian dollars but the dealer let me have it for a reasonable $2700.00 Aust dollars. Our watches over here are very expensive to what Europe and US pay. I bought the new Tag Monaco a few weeks ago and retail was $9000.00 AUD but got a deal for $7000.00. Still very expensive. I also have issues with Oris watches as have 8 of them and 4 have had the Crown fall out after just pulling it out to wind manually. Has anyone else had the same issues?. Would love to know. Just be aware when manually winding them.

The Bell & Ross isn't a dive watch at all, it is a casual watch with a stopwatch. I love that the bezel turns both ways. It turns something that is not very useful, a bezel designed for diving that will almost never happen, to something that is useful, a simple stopwatch without the added mechanical complexity and maintenance costs of a chronograph.

Just checked Rado and 42mm, 300m, 80h power reserve got me interested. I'm switching all my watches to 70h+ power reserve, since under 50h is getting annoying, they stop 2-3 hours before I manage to put them on.

I like your channel a lot. Unfortunely I can npot effort a expensive watch, and have to look at cheaper one's. I wear a cheap field watch and looking for a cheap diver. But thank you for your channel, and the way you talk about all those great watche's.Do you know the Brand Echo/Neutra. Its a italian disign with Swiss mechanics.

IMO the best diver for the money, I wear the Chase Durer UDT 1000XL. Built like a tank, gorgeous looks and practical, good for depths of 300 metres and costs $998 - under $1,000 USD
