Durable enough?
@Watch-Crazy3 жыл бұрын
@@CWB342 They're certainly no G Shock but absolutely. I've worn the Last Laugh more frequently than the King so far and inevitably it's picked up quite a few hairline scratches to the high polished case, no more than you'd normally expect and the crystal doesn't seem to have any scratches as yet. The case is a lot sturdier than it looks.
@ARlELATOM2 жыл бұрын
The other great thing about MJW is that they are hand made and you can see videos of them crafting them online. They probably have more man hours put into them than a Rolex off a conveyor belt 😅
@Watch-Crazy2 жыл бұрын
@@ARlELATOM I couldn't agree with you more! Rolex had almost 800 people working for them before the pandemic and they sold well over 2 million watches in a year, obviously not all 800 people make/assemble the watches but if for argument sake we said they all did, then each person would be making 10 watches per day!

The metal chain-mail strap is called a Milanese strap. You can find them in different styles with small or larges loops. I like them because the let your skin breath and don't pinch the hairs on your arm. They are easily changed in length to fit your arm sizes. A watch you might like to check out is the Bradley Eone One, is a watch aimed towards people with sight problems but it's just so cool even sighted people can wear and love it. In the upper end (WAY high end) there is this Belgium brand called Ressence. Their Type 5 is aimed at divers. So might be cool to get your hands on one to do a dive review on it.

I'm confused...the Archimedes is basically a homage to the Longines Legend Diver yet it costs the same?
@laltromondoyoutubechannel65372 жыл бұрын
The Milus model is the re-edition of one of their watches released on the market in 1970 After the 666 model. At that time there were various models with that type of case (supercompressor) that was supplied by third parties (the type of case was patented by Piquetez ). So it is not a Longines homage but a similar model as they were and those of various brands are. Is a Jaeger supercompressor an homage to Longines? No, They are only similar, adopting the same technical solutions for watch cases. Longines is certainly a more famous brand but this does not mean that the watch is necessarily better.

To answer when adam said that people ask "will this brand lose money" litterly all watches that's not made by omega, rolex, patek, etc. really high end brands. will lose money. if you buy a seiko for 600 usd, 1 year later it will be worht 400 usd, year after that probably 200 usd. The resell value on all watches that are not super high end is pretty shit and you will lose money. Buy the watch if you like it and rock it. dont worry bout the resell value if it's not a 10k-100k watch

I like the Milus watch. Simple (classic) design, but the quality is very apparent. These three are way over my budget (yes, even the MJW watch). I have a terrific Seiko that I bought in the 1980's but I always scratch the crystal, and have had it replaced a couple of times. It's not worth replacing it again, so I just wear my trusty Timex Indiglo, which has been very dependable. I can only dream of having a nice watch, but by that I don't mean something that Producer Michael would wear. As ABBA once sang: "Money, money, money, Must be funny, in the rich man's world"

Adam, you're in watches for all the right reasons mate. Great to see you going for a bit more watch detail too. And Mr Jones watches are very cool. For reference (trying to help)... for stopwatch instead say Chronograph. Tachymeter is the speed calculation scale around the bezel. A Chronometer is just a Swiss watch that has passed accuracy and stress tests set by COSC (the "Officially Certified" on your Submariner). The metal strap is "Shark mesh" or Milanese.

You lost me at energy drink and declaring you are a vegan. Vegans have that urge to tell everyone aloud about their mental delusions. Then, a 100g watch is not heavy, as you say. It's very light. But you need an energy drink to lift up a mere 100grams being a vegan. A simple bacon and egg breakfast would allow you to lift 1,000 such watches, but then you couldn't posture with a trendy energy drink in front of you.
