Sometimes I don't even say anything about a magic trick. I asked them if they have ever taken an ESP sensory test to determine if they have some form of ESP or not. I try to make it sound as serious as possible and that it's not some trick. You could take it from there It's so funny when you hear back a few weeks later around town that so-and-so has ESP. I never mention anything about a magic trick and of course they'll think they have ESP

can i use an invis deck like a normal deck for other tricks? Or will it damage the cards? In other words, should I buy an invis deck, AND a normal deck?

I strongly recommend that you use the invisible deck strictly for tricks meant for invisible decks. As soon as you use them as a normal deck, you will loose the matt finish that is on the back of the cards
