As a child, living and growing up in Scotland. I learned that close by the stinging nettle plant, grew the docken plant. The cure grew next to the problem. Great video.

Bringing a Long Lens to a Wide Angle Shoot, without thinking about gear, and only about the Pictures you want to take, might not be the right thinking?

I’ve always heard that practice makes perfect, but I like to say, as you pointed out, “perfect” practice makes perfect. I enjoyed this and just subscribed. I’m hoping to start taking better photos and documenting my grandchildren’s activities. Not really art, but I’d like to improve my “style” so they have something unique to look at down the road. Thank you.

Having been in this game five decades , I totally agree its useful to step back and analyse the process you are using to get the images you want , not that reflecting at all stages isn’t a bad call. As a dyslexic something I’ve always struggled with is remembering which buttons do what on my gear so I keep my shooing methods as simple as possible not that I don’t fully understand the process and what is required and I do enjoy the technical aspects. I’m mainly a landscape and interiors person and my process is, decide what I want in the way of images for what I’m working on, check the weather , decide on the gear. Enjoying your channel BTW . Cheers from NZ

I have a few things I think about. On the art side, do I want a foreground photo or a background photo?. On the technical side, to blur or not to blur, you know what I mean. With my camera, I use FV mode so I don't have to think about settings too much. I like to use overlays. My new art combines real photos with AI images.

Great video! One difference, for me, is that, many times, I decide what time of day, or night, I want to take photos, load up my gear, and then just set out, with an open mind, to see what grabs me, and what I might want to photograph. Many times I come back with little or nothing of import. But, more often than not, I find something interesting, that deserves my attentions, and stimulate my desire to take photographs of it. Such happenstance includes shooting almost an entire outdoor wedding, even though I wasn't hired to do so; catching an almost complete breaching of a whale down off the coast of Mexico; and, lucking into some wonderful early morning cactus photos, whilst doing some desert hiking. I LOVE finding the gems like that, and take a lot of pleasure in it, even though I don't start out looking for anything in particular. Just sharing something that brings me pleasure, that is not planned in advance. For what it's worth. Thanks, again, for a great video, and God Bless! - Doc Mark

Good video. There are good and bad habits. I read a book by Charles Duhigg called "The Power of Habit". Highly recommended. It helped me to quit my booze habit of 40 years. I replaced drinking booze with more healthy habits which include photography.

Before you worry about photography, how about the environment? Weather, light, safety etc.
