I was suffering from 2 bulge disc in last 6 weeks and I started slowly the exercise routine suggested by my physiotherapist. Within a week I felt zero pain and I can see my body adopted to those exercises quickly. My daily routine is, 6 km walking and 1 hour streching and strengthening exercises in morning and evening. From my personal experience I can say until you come out of your comfort zone you can't fix this problem. Find a good physio and follow the instructions. I know initially it is painful but no pain there is no gain. Now I am doing around 15 exercise with 5 repeation.

Hi Everything else makes sense in your comment however the “No pain no gain” statement is wrong. Bulging disc pain is a nerve pain and not muscular pain and for nerve pain the rule is - “If there is pain, there is no gain”. During herniated / bulging disc, You shouldn’t do any exercise that hurts you more. You should do gentle exercises and let the body heal itself.

I kept messing up on that first exercise so now i tense my glutes before i start to lift up, that helps a lot. Thanks for the great exercises 😊

Thanks Will, your exercises are working working wonders for me. The only difference is I don't have sciatica pain, I have my entire lower extremities give out if I move wrong. I have had three herniated disc's in the past and every now and again I move wrong and cause one to slip out of place. Apparently I have stopped doing my core exercises over time. Thanks for the refresher course to help me get back on track 😊

Will, thank you for this info.I've been following your videos,I exscersise everyday,I only do the one's that you advertise,they seem to work,I believe I'm healing because after a long 9 weeks of pain,I am about back to 85 percent movement of my body, before I started doing your workouts I couldn't walk at all, now I can at 65 years Young,but with some hip pain and weakness in the leg. So once again thank you and God Bless you.

Your videos are the perfect complement to my treatment. My Physiotherapist is great, but we really do not have the time for educating and informing me properly. Thanks god you are such a good pedagog!

Thanks, Will. I'm doing these exercises most days. They also help with strengthening glutes and are improving my posture. My sciatica is improving, so presumably my L4 L5 disc bulge is also shrinking... but it's a slow process!

L4/L5 herniated disc’ it’s been 9 months was improving now hit a set back I might of over did it at gym…back to nonstop pain can’t sit long or drive car at all… fml

@@pappishan how is you're now? I have same experience, had the L4 L5 heniation , aften 9 months it was almost well - then , it came back , i would say worse than before. hurts to sit now more than it did before,

Thank for your detailed explanations!! I have been suffering from sciatic pain extending from L hip buttocks area downwards to lateral & posterior lower leg. It is a deep burning pain. Started mid buttocks 6 months ago. Have tried oral steroids, PT, epidural & facet injections , chiropractic treatments, daily exercises, etc…MRI from Feb showed bulging discs at L4:3 & L4/5 with nerve root impingement at L5. Pain is worse when I get out of bed & hurts most when bending forward or sitting. I also had an anterior cervical fusion of C4-7 in 2011. I am hopeful using your exercises, but am consulting a neurosurgeon in late May. I am a 65 y/o female with osteoarthritis, osteoporosis & osteopenia. Your exercises give me hope. Thank you…, ❤

These 3 are great. At home here with disk issues, for like 10 weeks now doing these exercises (no sciatica just severe lower back pain). I find this routine also works to relieve the pain quite effectively. I add the back extension to the mix, it helps to strengthen the back side of your core, which I assume is safe to do, correct me if I am wrong.

I have bulged a disc three times now, this last time it herniated pretty good, plus bulged two more. But my pain has always gone away within 2 weeks. 10 weeks is a very long time to have severe pain. You really should consider seeing a doctor to see what else might be going on in there. Just my opinion, I know everybody is different and every incident is different.

@@kbmcmaster Yes it is a long time, but 2 things; its only in the mornings now and I have had a bad cold with coughing for 2 weeks and its when I cough that it is severe, otherwise little pain most of the rest of the time. It is healing but slowly because of all the coughing and I am in my 60's. Thanks for your concern.

these really help, thank you. my doctor just told me to decompress, which I have done a lot, but it didn't help recovering my back much. these exercises make me feel better than just decompressing.

Discs 5 upper plus 7 and 9 thoracic discs all bulging. Can you show core strengthening exercises. This video is wonderful I am doing these 3 exercises from now on 🙏😊

Thank you. This is very helpful. I try to hold the bird dog plank for a minute on each side. Maybe that’s too much? Maybe I should just hold each position for a few seconds and then switch to the other side? And I get confused about pelvic tilts; since I have an L-5 bulge do I want my belly to point down or up when I do the pelvic rotation? Sorry for the vagueness, getting old is new to me. Thank you. I am awaiting delivery of your book, maybe that will clear things up. 🤞

Can you please tell me if we have bulging disc in neck and lower back will our hands and legs muscles become weeker .....if so how to over come that problem ..i am 30 and my weight is 53....please respond to my question...it mean me a lot..thanks in advance

I got weakness in both legs suddenly one morning & couldn't stand. Went to the Er and they gave me pain meds. My pcp got upset and walked out of my visit. Saw a new/old Dr, and he's sending me a different spine, It's been hell and you're videos give me hope. L5/s1 bulging disc. Injections did nothing.

Wow! Same happened to me! I went to the ER and was given pain meds.I think I was upsetting my PCP, she didn't see me for my DR appointment and sent a referral to a pain specialist. Now the Pain specialist ordered an MRI and now I'm waiting 1 week for that! The physical therapist I see did dry needling and I was in so much pain from laying on my stomach it took me about an hour to get up off the table. I'm so over it! 😅

Well i never 😮my doc didn't even check my back only my right hip..which is problematic,suggested hip replacement fortunately Older and a younger doctor gotme on the right road and it turned out I had 2 ruptured disc's in my lower back....anyway 3 years later and a lot of self doctoring with the help of some injections I am improving 😂

Question. I was diagnosed with a herniation in my lower back, so I’m trying to find new exercises to help on my journey to recovery; I found your videos recently and my confusion is this: 2 doctors said I have a bulge and 1 doctor and 1 surgeon said I have a herniation, making me think they are the same thing (there’s still confusion around this, as I’ve been told that they’re the same thing, but then that they’re not?). Anyway, let’s say I have a bulge and not a herniation, is it safe to do the other exercises you have for herniations? Or on the other hand, if I have a herniation, is it safe to do these and the exercises you have for the herniation discs? Thanks in advance for your help!

yes , I think they almost cured my heniation - but now it's back and i dead hang every day for 2 mins so i'm not sure anyhintg cures it, it's almost like surgery is the one risk u can take to fix it, i put that off but now i'm wondering if it's not the best thing, I cycle 100 miles per week and go to the gym ever day and lift, I am too active to be so incapacitated

@@kristophstjames4143 i had herniation in my l5-s1, and these exercises helped alot that i am almost pain free. 1) glute bridges 2) cobra pose 3) dead bug 4) cat cow 5) planks. Try any from these and best of luck, the thought of surgery is scary. Also if you workout learn about all the exercises you are doing any one of them could be the cause of your pain.

Hi Doc i have been suffering for 2 weeks from a disc pressing on my sciatica nerv. It hurt a lot i cant sleep at night without some very strong pain killers and no position help. Do you have any tips for how i should sleep.

I use HASfit siatica stretch routine here on youtube. It's about 20 mins, but it relieves the pain well for me. Maybe it will work for you too. Also a pillow under your knees at night while lying on your back. Or inbetween your legs while lying on your side. Just don't lay on the side that hurts! Siatica pain just sucks. Try that other routine though!

The suffering can be longer, it will end up eventually .However, try exercises which doesn’t cause any pain , better follow what your doctor suggests (Highly recommended your doc advised exercises ) Your diet is important factor here pls consult with your doctor about your diet plan & make sure you don’t get overweight which had happened to me during my healing time. I suffered a lot & still not forgot those days . Healing process takes time & you must prepare yourself accordingly. God bless & give strength to everyone!!
