You do not need weights to get stronger. I demonstrate 3 exercises you can do (without weights) that will increase your strength.

As always with you Margaret, warmly and clearly presented, age-appropriate (I’m 75), and easy to incorporate into an exercise routine. I’m a non-gym person, preferring to keep it simple. An exception is that I AM going to get Nordic walking poles. (I appreciated your video comparing different pole types). I have a damaged lower back and like the idea of working my upper body at the same time as my lower. Best wishes from Australia via Chile.

I've never tried pushups as they are too much of a strain, but that benchtop version is amazing. The upper body and core muscles all feel it, and it is definitely do-able! Thank you for the pushup tips.

Thanks Margaret. Heel raise on one leg is a tough one since I ruptured the achilles. It’s been two years and I still can’t do it. That calf gastroc is so wimpy. I hike and ride my bicycle every day, but it just doesn’t want to grow back. I’ll keep trying the eccentric exercises. Hopefully it will respond someday. All the best.

Hello Margaret I've watched and enjoyed a lot of your exercises etc for the last 12 months since I was incapacitated with a broken pelvis, both sacra alas and the pubic bone, as well as my right wrist which is now plated and pinned. Without going into details this was due to a freak accident, it wasn't due to a fall as such. At the hospital I was classified as a young, fit 74 year old! However, subsequently after an MRI and a dexa scan I was told I had also at sometime had a couple of compression fractures in my lumbar spine and that I have osteoporosis. (I think I may have been misdiagnosed.) I've been following your exercises re the 'glutes' etc and press ups against the door etc and they've been very helpful as I can relate to your style of teaching. So if you read this, my question is - what exercises can you suggest to build back my muscle strength in my upper arms without too much stress on my wrists and elbows? I don't expect a direct answer but maybe you could do a video on that at some time. Thank you. Jean from England

I do 3 sets of the bridge each morning as part of my routine but have not tried any progressions. I raise my heels off the floor to do mine as I find this works best for me. I will start to try the progressions. I have damaged feet due to RA and I tried your heel raises but my feet got too sore. I would very much like to strengthen my calves. Do you have any other suggestions for this? I started about 1 month ago doing your beginner series just the active level 1 each night. I would like more info on that one before I purchase it. Length etc. where do I get info? Thanks.

I used to love this exercise. But I have benign positional vertigo which kicks in when I am on the floor and/or when my head is too low or not elevated. Any suggestions?
